FORT ATKINSON - The Monroe Senior Legion baseball team will look to shore up a few areas after losing to Fort Atkinson 10-0 in five innings in the Stateline divisional tournament on Saturday.

Monroe (10-7) managed just two hits - a Tyler Malcook single in the first inning and a double by Drew Nafzger in the second.

"It was not a good day for us," Monroe coach Eric Losenegger said. "We just didn't come ready to play."

Monroe's Kris Rieder pitched three innings and gave up seven runs. Jared Weber threw one inning and gave up one run and Mitch Marty in 2/3 of an inning gave up two runs.

"It's not the way we wanted to go into the regional," Losenegger said. "We have a few things to shore up for Wednesday."

Monroe will play the Kenosha Merchants in the American Legion Class AAA Region 7 State qualifying tournament at 5 p.m. Wednesday in Janesville.
