Susan M. Fox, age 65 of Monroe died Sunday, September 6, 2026 at U.W. Hospital in Madison. She was born on April 4, 1961 in Monroe, the daughter of Roy and Ann (Blumer) Rufer. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1979 and received her BS in Nursing at Edgewood College in Madison in 1983. Sue married Jeff H. Fox on Nov. 21, 1987 in Monroe. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Monroe Clinic and Hospital for 30 years; and recently was MDS at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie, retiring July 3, 2026. Sue attended St. John’s United Church of Christ in Monroe. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sue was always down for a card game of “31” and would never say no to a trip “West” which was code word for the casino. She recently developed a love for cruising and had gone on annual cruises with Jeff and the kids since 2024.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff of Monroe; children: Mallary (fiancée, Shaun Jackson) Fox of South Wayne, and Garrett Fox of Monroe; grandchildren: Brody Fox, Madelyn, Dominic and Liv Jackson; brother; Russell (Kathy) Rufer of Monroe; special aunt, Jane (Kenny) Williams; plus several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 am at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home, with Reverend Christina Schoenwetter officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
