“Chuck” Harlan of Monroe, WI passed away at home on March 20, 2021 at the age of 69 after a 4-year battle with cancer. Chuck was born on May 28, 1951, the son of Richard and Betty (Jacobson) Harlan in Richland Center, WI. He graduated from Riverdale High School in Muscoda, WI in 1969. He was awarded the 3rd place State Championship in wrestling his senior year and went on to be inducted into the Riverdale Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Chuck served in the U.S. Navy from 1970 to 1974 as an Operations Specialist. He pursued a career in agriculture after earning a degree in Chemicals and Fertilizers from the LaCrosse Technical College. He fulfilled an item on his bucket list by taking the Badger Honor Military Flight in October of 2019. Chuck had a passion for collecting sports memorabilia. He had a keen eye for wildlife and scenic beauty and became a professional photographer after his retirement.

Chuck was married to Bonnie (Byrd) for 46 years. Together they had two children, Tiffany and Nicholas. Family was his pride and joy, especially his two grandsons, Mikel and Lukas Leiva.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie, his children Tiffany (Guillermo) Leiva, their children, Mikel and Lukas, and Nicholas (Sarah-Jane) Harlan. He is further survived by brothers Tom and David Harlan, and sisters Laura (Gary) Lee, Linda (David) Post, and Martha (Wayne) Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Betty Harlan, and in-laws William and Hazel Byrd.

A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Chuck’s life.
