Audrey Ann Hunter passed away surrounded by family at the age of 92, Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Beehive Memory Care Home of Mt. Horeb, WI. She was born November 17, 1931, to Leslie and Florence (Hawkins) Ash in Albert Lea, MN and grew up in rural Alden, MN where she graduated from Alden High School. Audrey met her future husband, Dr. Richard “Dick” Hunter at Madison General Hospital, where she was training to be X-ray technologist. They were married on June 22, 1952, at her parents home in Alden. They settled in Argyle, WI where Dr. Hunter practiced in Family Medicine and she was a homemaker. Audrey loved her Arabian horses, creatively arranging flowers, music, and raising kittens. She also loved traveling, particularly to England and Mexico, with their good friends and family. They raised two daughters, Georgia (Manny) Reynaldo of Boca Raton, FL and Valerie (Bill) Kolb of Mt. Horeb. She is also survived by her sister Cynthia Nelson of Albert Lea, grandchildren Aaron Kolb, Adrienne Hull, and Alexandra Reynaldo, as well as great-grandchildren Olivia Jacobs and Elzbeth Franzen-Kolb. She is predeceased by her husband Richard, siblings Wanda Plummer, Elliott Ash, and her parents.
The family would like to thank the staff of Beehive Homes and Agrace hospice for the loving and compassionate care they provided over the past four years.
Per Audrey’s wishes, the family will have a private celebration of life. Arrangements are being provided by Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle, WI.
Memorials may be given to “Agrace Foundation” (5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, WI 53711) in Audrey’s name.
