Wahl also earned first-place finishes in Portrait/Personality ("Farmer's Break") and Feature Picture Story ("Faith, Farm and Perseverance: The Porterfields") and placed third in the Portfolio category.
Thirty-one professional photographers competed in the WNPA contest this year, entering photographs published in 2013.
Wahl received recognition from the National Press Photographer's Association in March for his photo essay, "Farming, Faith and Perseverance," which was awarded second place in the NPPA's Best Published Picture Story (Smaller Markets) category.
