Snowmobile getaway is foiled by local cops

MONROE - A Monroe man was arrested after he fled from Green County Sheriff's Department deputies on a snowmobile Thursday.

Daniel K. Trost, 28, was spotted driving a snowmobile at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday on the road in the W5200 block of County KK in Monroe township.

Deputies began to pursue the snowmobile, but it turned off the road. The snowmobile hit a fence and overturned. Neither he nor the passenger on the snowmobile were injured.

Trost struggled with deputies and fled. He was arrested at his residence a short time later. He struggled with officers when taken into custody.

He was arrested for driving a vehicle under the influence and two counts of resisting arrest.

He posted bond and was released pending court.

The Monroe Police Department assisted the deputies working the case.
