MONROE - A recent rash of nighttime burglaries in southwest Green County prompted the Green County Sheriff's Office to issue an alert late Friday to area residents.
Businesses, churches and residential properties have been targets of burglaries in eight locations so far:
W9000 Smock Valley Road, Town of Jordan
W8400 Butts Road, Town of Cadiz
N2000 Steiner Road, Town of Clarno
W2700 Lumberyard Road, Town of Jefferson
N3100 Wisconsin 81, Town of Monroe
N4600 Jordan Center Road, Town of Jordan
N4000 Klondike Road, Town of Jordan
N3000 Wis. 59, Town of Monroe
The alert reminds residents to lock their homes at night or when unoccupied and to report any suspicious activity, including vehicles parked along highways, unknown people on their property, activity at closed businesses or any other unusual conditions.
Details of the burglaries are being withheld because they are being investigated as potentially related crimes.
