MONROE - A dispute between roommates led to one Monroe man allegedly striking the other intentionally with his vehicle early Friday morning.

Jose Alberto Velasco, 21, Monroe, was taken into custody Friday morning pending official charges.

The victim, Victor Rosales-Martinez, 22, Monroe, was transported to Monroe Clinic Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Green County Sheriff's Department released the preliminary investigation information at about 9:45 a.m. Friday.

Sheriff Randy Roderick reported Rosales-Martinez and Velasco live at the same address.

Both men were at Sir Buk's tavern, where they had an argument. Rosales-Martinez left the establishment and proceeded to walk toward the City of Monroe when he was struck by a vehicle at 12:28 a.m. Friday on County KK east of County K in the Town of Monroe.

Green County Sheriff's Department deputies and the Monroe Police Department were called to the scene for a report of a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle.

The Wisconsin State Patrol Accident Reconstruction Unit was requested to assist with the initial investigation, which indicates the incident was intentional.

The investigation led to the arrest of Velasco, who is jailed and awaiting formal charges by the district attorney.

County KK was reopened after the investigation was completed.
