NEW GLARUS - A New Glarus man was arrested late Wednesday for allegedly trying to burglarize the New Glarus Hometown Pharmacy, according to police.
Devon K. Jacobson, 24, was jailed on charges of attempted burglary and felony bail jumping. He has a court appearance Tuesday.
At about 11:48 p.m. Wednesday, New Glarus police and Green County sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call of a suspicious person next to the back door of the pharmacy at 1101 Wisconsin 69.
Jacobson was quickly located at the scene, detained and questioned, according to New Glarus Police Lieutenant Jeff Sturdevant.
During questioning, officers located a tool on Jacobson "used for attempting to force entry into the building." Trace evidence at the scene linked the tool to the crime.
Jacobson signed a $5,000 signature bond in July on charges of theft and misappropriation of ID info to obtain money. The case is still pending.
