DARLINGTON — A rural Blanchardville man is dead after he was ejected from his ATV in an accident near Yellowstone Lake State Park Sunday afternoon, March 24, according to Lafayette County Sheriff Reg Gill.

Patrick L. McDermott, 68, rural Blanchardville, died at the scene as a result of injuries he suffered in the crash.

A 911 caller reported the accident at about 4:40 p.m. on County F, just west of the intersection with North Lake Road, Town of Fayette.

McDermott was westbound on County F when he lost control of his 2008 Polaris Sportsman ATV. The vehicle overturned on the road and ejected him.

The Blanchardville Fire Department and EMS, Green County EMS and wardens with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources assisted deputies at the scene.
