MONROE - Maggie Mae, a country singer/Nashville recording artist who resides in Oxford, will be performing a Country Christmas Concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13 at Monroe High School's Performing Arts Center. She performs classic country and yodeling favorites.
She taught herself to play and sing after buying her first guitar in 2002. Mae and her husband Roger Hilliard own and operate Maggie Mae's Café in Oxford. They are also farmers and often hold "old-fashioned" barn dances during the summer.
Mae is a regular performer on RFD TV's "Midwest Country Show" on Saturday nights and has performed the past two years at the Green County fair. She has recorded six albums and has songs being played on radio stations across the country and abroad. She has also sung with well-known performers, including The Riders in the Sky, Branson on the Road and Doug Stone, as well as opened up shows for many artists.
