MONROE — Green County Development Corporation (GCDC) held a workshop on artificial intelligence (AI) on Nov. 15 and opened eyes on the opportunities AI can provide and the cautions to take when using it.

Heather Ferguson, program manager for Wisconsin Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the UW-Madison School showed participants how AI thinks, demonstrated prompts and the responses for AI. In addition, various tools were presented to demonstrate the difference of each, including ChatGPT, Otter.ai, Perplexity.ai, to name a few. For more of the details and handouts provided at the workshop, individuals can access the materials at http;//gettalk.at/beginnerai.

Participants were able to ask questions and share personal insights in relation to their business needs and goals. The Small Business Development Center is free resource to entrepreneurs and small business owners to help with start-ups and maintaining successful businesses.

This workshop was held in connection with participant input from the GCDC Small Business Series held last spring in partnership with The Bank of New Glarus and Southwest Wisconsin SBDC.The series included educational components and culminated in a pitch contest with cash prizes. GCDC will be holding the Small Business Series again in the spring of 2024.
