DARLINGTON — An Amish family was ejected from their buggy and suffered minor injuries in an early morning accident on Dec. 8.
According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, at about 5:54 a.m. deputies responded to Wis. 81 in Seymour Township for a vehicle versus buggy accident.
Jalen C. Phillips, 26, Lena, was traveling eastbound on Wis. 81 in a 2022 Kia when he struck the left rear corner of the buggy. All occupants of the buggy, which included two adults and four children, were ejected. The occupants of the buggy suffered only minor injuries, according to authorities. Two occupants were transported to Southwest Health in Platteville where they were treated and released.
The buggy sustained substantial damage, and Phillips’ Kia sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. The two horses pulling the buggy were not injured.
