Vera M. Notter, age 95, of New Glarus, WI, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015, at New Glarus Home in New Glarus. She was born January 27, 1919 in Illinois the daughter of Fredrich and Florence (Stuckey) Kloepping. Vera was united in marriage to Herman Notter in 1936. She lived in the Woodford area most of her life, where she made cheese with her husband at both Springbrook and Hanson Cheese Factories. She also babysat for a number of families in the Woodford area for many years and later helped raise two of her grandsons, Lance and Luke. Vera also stayed busy waitressing at Bernie's Drive-In in Monroe, WI, for a few years. She retired in 1989.

Vera is survived by six children: Mary Jane (Robert) Tuescher of Monroe, Richard (Grace) Notter of rural Monticello, WI, Roger Notter of Argyle, Norman Notter of Monroe, James Notter of Argyle, and Randall Notter of Argyle; one daughter-in-law: Pat Notter of Browntown, WI; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; one brother: Delbert (Dolly) Kloepping of Monroe; and one sister: Helen Wilson of Dakota, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Herman in November of 1975; one son: Daniel Notter on August 4, 2009; one grandson: Jeffrey Notter in 2000; one sister: Lucille Arnsmier; and two brothers: Jack and Gilbert Kloepping.

Vera was a member of Wiota Lutheran Church and its Women of ELCA. She loved spending time with her family and made Grandma's Flower Garden Quilts for most of her grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 19, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Yellowstone Lutheran Church, 4472 Saints Road in rural Blanchardville, WI, with Rev. Daniel L. Bohlman officiating. Burial will be in Yellowstone Lutheran Cemetery in rural Blanchardville. A visitation will be held Sunday, January 18, 2015, from 12 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Erickson Funeral Home, 801 East Milwaukee Street in Argyle.
