TOWN OF SEYMOUR - Two Darlington teens were injured after their horse-drawn buggy collided with a trailer on Wisconsin 81 Sunday afternoon, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department
The operator of the buggy, Stephen S. King, 17, was treated at the scene by emergency responders for his injuries.
His passenger, Katie S. Lapp, 15, was taken by Rural Medical Ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Darlington for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The accident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday. King told deputies his horse went out of control and pulled the buggy into the path of the trailer portion of an oncoming truck.
The truck's driver, Daniel J. Jones, 58, Fennimore, reported no injuries. The truck and trailer sustained minor damage.
"The horse became detached from the buggy and ran away," according to a Lafayette County news release. The buggy was extensively damaged and towed.
The Darlington Police and Fire Departments assisted at the scene.
