Green County Sheriff

MONROE - One person was injured in a one-vehicle rollover accident at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday in the W4000 block of County W in the Town of Exeter. Deputies report Kainan A. Loebbaka, 16, Belleville, was eastbound when the vehicle went through some snow and ice. The vehicle slid into the south ditch, where it overturned and came to a rest on its top. Loebbaka was transported to a hospital in Madison by Belleville EMS. The car received severe damage and was towed from the scene. Belleville Fire Department and Police Department also assisted.

No injuries were reported from in a one-vehicle accident at about 3 a.m. Saturday in the W800 block of Wis. 92 in the Town of Brooklyn. Deputies report James W. Cliff, 58, Brooklyn, was eastbound on Wis. 92 when he lost control of his vehicle, slid into a ditch and becoming stuck in the snow on the south side of the roadway. Cliff was arrested for first offense operating while under the influence, and cited for failure to maintain control and prohibited alcohol concentration. He was released pending court.

Tami J. Halatek, 52, Monroe, was northbound on Wis. 69 south of Spring Valley Road, when a deer collided with her vehicle at about 6:15 a.m. Friday on Wis. 69 and Spring Valley Road in the Town of New Glarus. The vehicle received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at about 5:15 a.m. Sunday in the W5700 block of County NN in the Town of New Glarus. Deputies report that the Green County Highway Department reported a vehicle had crashed into a tree. The driver left the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. The driver, David Lee Mouchon 40, Monticello, was contacted and stated he swerved to miss a raccoon. The vehicle sustained minor damage. Mouchon was cited for failure to notify police of an accident and for too fast for conditions. He was released pending court.

DARLINGTON - No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle, rollover accident at about 10 p.m. Friday on Ollie Belle Road in the Town of New Diggings. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Melissa l. Homer, 33, Shullsburg, traveled across the roadway, through a fence and down an embankment and rolled over. The vehicle received damage and was towed from the scene. Homer was cited for failure to have control of a vehicle.

No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday on U. S. Highway 151 in the town of Belmont. Deputies report Charles A. Layfield, 23, Dubuque, was southbound when one of the vehicle's front wheels fell off. Layfield safely drove his vehicle to the shoulder of the road. Jessica M. Greenwood, 18, Dubuque, a passenger, was also uninjured. The vehicle received damage and was towed from the scene.

n Deputies responded at about 4 a.m. Saturday to a hit-and-run accident on Judgement Street in Shullsburg. Deputies report a legally parked vehicle had been struck by an unknown vehicle that left the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
