MONROE - On Friday:

• Deputies responded to a motor vehicle crash on County K at Union Road, Town of Spring Grove, at 10:30 a.m. Betty L. Clark, 83, of Davis, Illinois was driving west on County K when, upon approaching a sharp left curve at Union Road, the right tires of her vehicle entered the soft gravel shoulder. Clark corrected left, then overcorrected right and lost control. The vehicle left the north side of the roadway and traveled through a barbed wire fence. The vehicle continued down an embankment and overturned onto its right side, coming to rest in Spring Creek. Clark was unable to extricate herself from the vehicle. Juda Fire/First Response and Monroe EMS responded and extricated her from the vehicle. Clark reported no injuries and there was no airbag deployment. The vehicle sustained moderate damages and was towed from the scene.

• Deputies reported two motor vehicle crashes involving deer. Bethany L. Degrand was involved in a vehicle-deer crash in the N7900 block of County EE in the Town of Exeter and Bryce R. Riemer was involved in a vehicle-deer accident in the W2900 block of Wisconsin 11 in the Town of Jefferson.

On Saturday:

• A Monroe man was arrested for drunk driving after deputies responded at 3:17 a.m. to the N3800 block of Ladwig Road, Town of Sylvester, for a two-vehicle crash. Eric T. Tessen Jr., 36, of Albany was traveling south when he slowed to enter a driveway. His vehicle was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Brandon S. Varva, 27, of Monroe. Neither driver was injured. Tessen's vehicle sustained moderate rear-end damage and was driven from the scene. Varva's vehicle had moderate front-end damage. Varva was arrested of operating while under the influence, first offense, and cited for following too closely; non-registration of auto; possession of 25 grams of less of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia. Varva was released pending court.

• Two vehicle-deer accidents were reported: Brian V. Pooler was involved in a vehicle-deer accident in the N7800 block of County N, Town of New Glarus, and David A. Minder was involved in a vehicle-deer accident in the W8400 block of Wis. 11 in the Town of Cadiz.

• Deputies responded at 12:56 a.m. to Wis. 11/81 just east of the Wis. 59 interchange in the Town of Monroe for a report of a two-vehicle crash. A pickup operated by Randal C. Wyss, 54, of Monroe was eastbound on Wis. 11/81 when a piece of firewood fell out of the trailer he was towing. The wood collided with a second pickup that was also eastbound on Wis. 11/81 and operated by Jarrod A. Mair, 25, of Gratiot. No injuries were reported, and all occupants were wearing their seat belts. The Wyss vehicle was not damaged and the Mair vehicle sustained minor front-end damages. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

On Sunday:

• Curtis L. Updike was involved in a vehicle-deer accident on County Y west of County M, Town of Jordan.

• At 4:13 p.m., Kevin J. Kane, 51, Rockford, reported he had crashed his motorcycle in the W500 block of Town Center Road in the Town of Spring Grove earlier in the day. Kane said that at 11:15 a.m., he was eastbound on Town Center Road when he came across some deer and swerved to avoid them but due to the mud on the road, the motorcycle slid on its side down the roadway. Kane stated he and his passenger, Brenda S. Sehlueter, 50, Rockford, received injuries but did not seek medical treatment and were not wearing helmets. The motorcycle received moderate damage and was removed from the scene by the operator.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Police responded to the 1400 block of Wis. 69 for a two-vehicle crash at 12:10 p.m. Saturday. An investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Janice M. Martin, 59, Waterford, was northbound on Wis. 69 when her vehicle rear-ended another vehicle that was legally stopped and making a left-hand turn into a business. Martin was cited for inattentive driving. No injuries were reported. All subjects involved reported to have been wearing their seatbelts.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Friday:

• Sue A. Matye, 59, Shullsburg reported striking a deer at 10:31 p.m. on Wisconsin 23, Darlington Township. No injuries were reported and Matye's 2012 Chevrolet Impala received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

• Kimberly S. Delzer, 46, Argyle, reported striking a deer at 11:08 p.m. on Wis. 81, Argyle Township. No injuries were reported and Delzer's 2014 Toyota Rav4 received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

On Sunday:

• Deputies responded to South Judgement Street in Shullsburg at 3:05 a.m. for a motor vehicle accident. Gregory W. Leahy, 24, Shullsburg was traveling southbound on Judgement Street when he fell asleep and crossed the centerline and struck two vehicles owned by Matthew D. Bennett, 31, Shullsburg. All vehicles received severe damage and were towed from the scene. Leahy was cited for operating while intoxicated and was transported to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office where he was released to a responsible party.

• Kaitlyn A. Reichling, 16, Darlington reported striking a deer at 7:45 p.m. on Walnut Road, Wiota Township. No injuries were reported. Reichling's 2005 GMC Envoy received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

• Bristol T. McDermott, 21, Darlington, reported striking a raccoon at 8:30 p.m. on Wis. 23, Willow Springs Township. No injuries were reported. McDermott's 2015 Chevrolet Cruze received severe damage and was towed from the scene.
