MONROE - Florentino Martinez, 33, Janesville, was arrested for drunken driving and inattentive driving following a one-vehicle accident at about 12:30 a.m. Friday in the W4900 block of County KK in Clarno township. Deputies report he fell asleep while driving and his vehicle left the road, hit several mailboxes and went down an embankment. The vehicle rolled several times. Martinez declined medical attention at the scene and was later treated at the Monroe Clinic for injuries sustained in the crash. The vehicle received extensive damage and was towed.
• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 4:15 p.m. Friday in the W2600 block of Zurfluh Road in Albany township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by James W. Loften, 85, Albany, hit a mailbox. The vehicle left the road, went over a culvert and into a cornfield. Loften told Deputies he might have fallen asleep. The vehicle received moderate damage.
