Robert "Bob" Roy Rufenacht, 87, of Monroe, passed away on Tuesday, August 01, 2017 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. He was born on October 4, 1929, the son of Ernest and Marie (Gisler) Rufenacht. Bob was united in marriage to Glorianne Thoman on June 23, 1957 at the Washington Reformation Church in Monticello.
Bob attended rural school until he left to help on his family farm. After his marriage he farmed alongside his wife for 28 years. After farming he was a dedicated truck driver for Monroe Truck Equipment for 20 years. He was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge of Monroe. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and playing cards with friends and family. Bob will be remembered by those who knew him as a selfless, generous man.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Glorianne; children, Rosemary (Pastor Tim) Carlson, Jeffrey (special friend, Vickie Smith) Rufenacht; seven grandchildren, Hannah (Jared) Williams, Caleb (Shoshannah) Carlson, Abbie (Corey) Berge, Sarah (Paul) Nelson, Noah Carlson, Kristin (Steven Meyer) Rufenacht, Danielle (Nick Tadych) Rufenacht; three great-grandchildren, Daxton, Henry, and Asher (expected this month); sisters, Helen Mallory and Edna Kramer; as well as several nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law, other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents; and daughter-in-law, Cathy Rufenacht.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Moose Lodge in Monroe. A time of family sharing will be held at 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bob's name to Pleasant View Nursing Home or The Monroe Clinic Hospice.
