Monroe Police

MONROE - Paul L. Grinnell, 50, Monroe, was arrested in the 1600 block of 6th Street at 7:44 p.m. Thursday, May 31, on a warrant issued by the Green County Sheriff's Department for failure to pay child support. Police also cited him for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia (a pipe). He was jailed.

• Angela M. Hess, 25, Browntown, was cited for retail theft at 3:52 p.m. Thursday, May 31, after she reportedly stole a $15 brassiere from ShopKo, 405 W. 8th St.

• The theft of a gaming system, video games and DVDs was reported at 7:10 a.m. Thursday, May 31, from an unlocked apartment in the 2300 block of 16th Avenue. The estimated value of the stolen possessions is $1,430. Police are investigating possible suspects.

• A warning notice was left at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, May 31, for a property owner in the 1100 block of 15th Avenue to mow the lawn.

• Police took a report at 11:11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, that a person in the 2600 block of 9th Avenue fell victim to a cellphone banking scam that is sweeping Green and Rock counties. The automated call asks for a person's personal banking or Social Security numbers. The person lost $3,200 in the scam but may be able to recover the money. An investigation revealed that this call, like a similar call reported Wednesday in Monroe, originated in Romania. Law enforcement agencies in the area are warning residents not to give out any personal information to a company unless they initiate the contact.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Kyle T. Dolphin, 21, Albany, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated (first offense) and driving with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration after deputies stopped him at 6:10 p.m. Thursday, May 31, on Wisconsin 59 west of Sylvester Road in the Town of Sylvester. He was also cited for speeding and released pending court



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Mark R. Scott, 27, South Wayne, was cited for operating left of center at 8:23 p.m. Thursday, May 31, on Wisconsin 78 in the Town of Wiota.
