Monroe Police

MONROE - On Thursday, Jan. 2:

• Police received a report at 6:54 p.m. that a pair of leather boots were taken from a locker at the Monroe High School during the school day. The investigation continues.

• Police responded at 8:52 p.m. to a business in the 1300 block of 31st Avenue for a report of an unresponsive person. Efforts by emergency responders to resuscitate the 75-year-old male were unsuccessful. The incident remains under investigation by police and the coroner's office. No signs of foul play were found.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Ryan M. Richardson, 29, Brodhead, was arrested for second-offense OWI after a deputy stopped to check on a vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway in the W1000 block of County F in Decatur Township at 5:59 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2. Richardson was released to a responsible party pending court.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Thursday, Jan. 2:

• A deputy responded at 3:55 p.m. to County X in Belmont Township to check the welfare of an individual.

• A deputy responded at 9:20 p.m. to East Truth Street in Shullsburg to assist a motorist with a locked vehicle.

• A deputy responded at 9:53 p.m. to Sedgwick Lane in Shullsburg Township to assist a motorist with a locked vehicle.
