Monroe Police

MONROE - On Monday, Dec. 23:

• Mary C. Silberschlag, 58, Monroe was cited at 8:10 a.m. for failing to yield right-of-way from a stop sign after police responded to a motor vehicle accident at West 8th Street and 6th Avenue West. Silberschlag hit a vehicle operated by Kurt E. Sounders, 44, Freeport. No injuries were reported. The vehicles sustained minor to moderate damage.

• Police were contacted at 1:17 p.m. by a West Allis resident about a report of identity theft. The resident claimed the identity was used to order products online from a Monroe business.

• Police responded at 4:17 p.m. to a residence in the 1600 block of 13th Avenue for an out of control 14-year-old boy making threats. The juvenile was placed in emergency detention and transported to a secure facility.

• Marcella N. Ingram, 36, Monroe, and Luke T. Hassell, 33, Monroe, were arrested and charged with retail theft after police responded at 6:09 p.m. to a business in the 300 block of 6th Avenue West for a retail theft complaint. Approximately $446 in electronics merchandise was taken and later recovered. Both individuals were released pending court.

On Tuesday, Dec. 24:

• Police were dispatched at 4:18 a.m. to the 1600 block of 22nd 1/2 Avenue to deliver a death notification to a resident.

• Police were dispatched at 12:34 p.m. to the 1500 block of 16th Street for a report of a person or persons who broke the back window of a pickup truck with a bottle. The incident remains under investigation.

On Wednesday, Dec. 25:

• Police were dispatched at 11:16 a.m. to a residence in the 1100 block of 30th Street for a report of a domestic argument. The argument was determined to be only verbal and between family members at a holiday gathering. No arrests were made, and the parties went to separate destinations.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Wednesday, Dec. 25:

• Walter R. Goudy, 59, Monroe, was cited for operating a vehicle without a valid driver's license and for driving too fast for conditions after deputies responded at 10:25 a.m. to a two-vehicle accident on Wis. 69 near Cemetery Road in Mount Pleasant Township. Dennis P. Dalton, 55, Monroe, was traveling north on Wis. 69 when a pickup truck driven by Goudy attempted to pass Dalton's vehicle on the right. Goudy lost control of his truck due to snow and ice on the roadway and slid into Dalton's vehicle. Goudy's vehicle then slid off the roadway and overturned on its roof. No injuries were reported. Dalton's vehicle sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. Goudy's vehicle sustained moderate to severe damage and was towed from the scene.

• Rodney K. Crooks, 43, Monticello, was cited for first-offense OWI and failure to maintain control of a vehicle after deputies responded to a vehicle in the ditch in the W3800 block of Nye Road in Exeter Township. The vehicle was traveling west when the driver lost control and entered a ditch. The driver fled the scene on foot but was located hiding in a barn. Crooks was arrested for obstructing.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Wednesday, Dec. 25:

• A deputy assisted a motorist with unlocking a vehicle at 11 a.m. on Maple Street in Blanchardville.

• A deputy responded at 12:08 p.m. to a parking complaint at a location on Mills Street in Argyle.

• Deputies responded to a 911 hangup at 6:25 p.m. to West Clinton Street in Shullsburg. No caller was located in the area. The call was made from a cellphone and could not be traced.

• A deputy assisted a motorist at 9:17 p.m. with unlocking a vehicle on Wis. 11 in Benton Township.
