Paul E. "Scruffy/Duck" Henningsen, age 60 of Monroe, died unexpectedly Monday, June 22, 2009 at his home. Paul was born April 30, 1949 in Benton, WI, the son of James and Clara (Simmons) Henningsen. He attended Albany schools. Paul worked as a custodian at Abe Lincoln Grade School in Monroe and later was employed at Argyle Industries. Presently he worked as manager and groundskeeper for the Meridian Group Inc.

He was a former member of the Albany and Monroe Fire Depts. and was an active member of the Rock River Thresheree. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, hunting, restoring tractors, and attending car shows with his brother.

He is survived by two daughters, Jamie (Steve) Rowley and Bobbie Jo (Alan) Henningsen, all of Monroe; his fiancée, Amy Parr of Monroe, and her children, Lynn, Alicia, Robert Jr., Scott, Oakes, and Norma Jeane Parr; four grandchildren; four brothers, James of Virginia, Roger of Spanaway, WA, Keith of Janesville, and Ken (Barb) Henningsen Sr. of Albany; two sisters, Patsy (Nick) Gille of South Wayne, and Anna Mae (Rod) Cain of Madison; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lyle; and a nephew, Shawn Henningsen.

A Celebration of Paul's Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2009, at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Rev. Cal Schaver officiating. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

A memorial fund will be established in his name.
