BRODHEAD - Marvin J. West, age 83, died Friday, June 19, 2009 at Mercy Hospital. He was born on January 11, 1926 in Monroe; the son of John and Emma (Tertin) West. Marvin married Gladys Hanson on June 9, 1946 in Monroe. He worked for Golden Rod, Universal foods and Stella Cheese as a Cheesemaker, retiring in 1986, after 26 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and the Brewers and the Packers.

He is survived by 3 daughters: Leann (Jim) Looze, Roylene (Robert) Blankenhorn and Glennette (Steven) Stettler, all of Brodhead; 2 brothers, Delbert West of Champagne, Il and Gordon West of Colorado; a sister, Marion (Karl) Munz of Monroe; and 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 step-granddaughters and 4 step-great grandchildren; many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a son, Keenan in infancy, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at EVERSON FUENRAL HOME, Brodhead, with Larry Froeming officiating. Burail will be in the Stateline Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Everson Funeral Home.
