Marlyn C. Trumble, age 88 of rural Blanchardville, WI passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville, WI. He was born September 15, 1928 in Blanchardville the son of Chester and Viola (Paulson) Trumble. Marlyn was united in marriage to Myrna K. Finke on May 22, 1954 at Primrose Lutheran Church of rural Belleville, WI. Marlyn lived in the Blanchardville area his entire life. Marlyn and Myrna lived and farmed on the Paulson Family Farm in Blanchard Township until 1976 when they moved to Moscow Township and continued to farm until his retirement. Following his retirement, he became a seasonal worker at University of Wisconsin Farms for 9 years.
Marlyn is survived by three children: Kim (Lisa) Trumble of Darlington, WI, Michael Trumble of Browntown, WI, and Wendi (Tim) Hendrickson of Blanchardville; nine grandchildren: Jami, James, Michelle, Brooke, Marcy, Bruce, Rachel, Jon, and Cole; 5 great grandchildren: Lexi, Laci, Thomas, Sawyer and Aliza, one brother: Roland Trumble of Blanchardville; and one sister: Velda (Bob) Thompson of Sun Prairie, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son at birth; one sister-in-law, Norma Trumble; and one brother-in-law, Norton Urness.
Marlyn was a member of Yellowstone Lutheran Church in rural Blanchardville and Wisconsin Horse Racing Association. Marlyn's greatest passion in life was racing quarter horses. He had two Wisconsin Horseracing Association Quarter Horses of the year: "Savanah Whammy" and "Lucks Swinger." Marlyn was well-respected and well known in the area for his herd of Holstein Cows. He shared his passion for cattle with his children and absolutely loved watching his children show his cattle. He was an avid golfer and member of Yellowstone Golf course in rural Argyle where at age 80 he had a hole-in-one. He cherished the time he spent with his family creating memories they will all remember forever. Marlyn will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Monday, July 17, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Yellowstone Lutheran Church (4472 Saints Road, Blanchardville) with Rev. Daniel L. Bohlman officiating. Burial will be in Yellowstone Lutheran Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (801 Milwaukee Street, Argyle) and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at the church.
