ALBANY/BRODHEAD - Lucina F. Nipple, age 80, formerly of Albany, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2009, at Woods Crossing Nursing Home, Brodhead. She was born on April 22, 1928 in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Paul and Fern (McKinney) Tober. Her mother later married Ed Frie and he raised her as his own daughter. She married Walter Nipple on May 9, 1947. He passed away in November of 1994.
Lucina was a member of Albany Women's Auxiliary. She loved being in pool and dart leagues, dancing, karaoke, and raising flowers.
She is survived by her children, Sheila Rodriguez, OK, Dennis (Kathy) Nipple, Barb (Mark) Boelk, Sandra Coite, Tracy Karalis, all of Monroe, Kelly (Randy) Gutzmer, Orangeville, IL, Debra Robertson, MN, Shelly SanFillipo, Stockton, IL, Stephen Nipple, Monticello, WI, Michael Mathison, Viroqua, WI, Darwin Nipple, Brodhead; brothers, Mahlon (Enid) Frie, Robert Frie, Ernest (Karen) Frie, all of Brodhead, Milo (Karen) Frie, Monroe; 30 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and eight step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, two sons, Kim and Roger, a daughter, Maria, one grandchild, and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009, at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, with Rev. Ronald E. Massen officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Albany. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
