Louise J. Weeden age 81 of Brooklyn, WI died Thursday, May 28, 2015 at U.W. Hospital, Madison. Louise was born February 1, 1934 in LaFarge, WI, the daughter of Arnold Strait and Pauline Bennett (Grace) Strait. She graduated from LaFarge High School in 1951. Louise married Robert D. Weeden on June 12, 1952. The couple moved to Monticello, WI and later retired to Monroe. Louise worked as a CNA at the New Glarus Home until retiring. She was a member of Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello, and enjoyed crocheting and patching her families clothes. She loved her dog, Tessee, and Punky the cat who sat with her often.
She is survived by her children, Susan (David) Elmer of Brooklyn, WI, Richard (Darlene) Weeden of Monroe, Randy Weeden (Jeanette Scholz) of Monroe, and Rodney Weeden (Anita Stoehr) of Monticello, WI; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; and two sons, Ronald and Robert Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at the Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello, with Rev. Jeanne Douglas officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery, Monticello. Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home, Monticello, is assisting the family.
