Kathryn "Kathy" Prast

ORLAND PARK, IL - Kathryn "Kathy" Prast, age 65, passed away on March 12, 2008 after an extended illness. She was born on April 24, 1942 in Monroe, WI, to Marvin E. and Elizabeth E. (Barker) Davidson. She married John "Jack" Prast on August 5, 1972 in Freeport, IL.

She taught physical education for a short time and spent the rest of her life loving and caring for her family,with her grandchildren bringing her the most joy. She graduated from Orangeville High School and Illinois State Teachers College.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, April (Bob) Brown of Oswego, IL and Amanda (Terry) Madler of Homer Glen, IL; grandchildren, Bobby, Danny and Peanut Brown, also Travis and Alexis Madler; sisters, Donna (Elmer) McLain of Freeport, Nancy Weidel of Rock Falls, IL, and Susan (Mel) Wichman of Orangeville; one brother, Robert (Maureen) Davidson of Freeport; one sister-in-law, "Kip" (Don) West of Burr Ridge, IL; two brothers-in-law, Ron (Nancy) Prast of Poway, CA and Larry (Leslie) Prast of Burr Ridge, IL; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Harold; and one sister, Betty Gibbons.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the Cedarville Evangelical Church. Officiating will be Pastor Jack Ward.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2008 at the Cramer Leamon Funeral Home in Orangeville, IL.

Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

A memorial has been established.

On June 7:

● At 11:21 a.m., officers arrested Lucas S. Rosslein, 45, of Monroe, at 17th Avenue and 11th Street, on a warrant issued by the Green County Sheriff’s Office for a child support case. Rosslein was confined in the Green County Jail pending further proceedings.

On June 14:

● At 5:37 p.m., officers were called to a one-vehicle versus sign accident, with no reported injuries, in the 1000 block of 16th Avenue. The investigation indicated that a vehicle southbound on 16th Avenue, operated by Cynthia L. Hughes (63), of Monroe, while pulling into a parking stall, drove over the curb and struck a street sign. The vehicle sustained minor damages, and the sign pole was also damaged. Hughes was cited for operating without a valid driver’s license, non-registration of a vehicle, and no vehicle insurance. Hughes was released pending a court appearance. 

● At 7:22 p.m., officers arrested Jasten C. Halvorson (25), of Brodhead, in the 2800 block of 6th Street, on a warrant issued by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections-Probation & Parole, for a probation violation. Halvorson was confined in the Green County Jail pending further proceedings.
