MONTICELLO/NEW GLARUS - Gary Young Figy, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 26, 1944 in Monroe, WI to his parents Maynard and Lenore Figy Marty. Gary graduated from New Glarus High School in 1962. On May 9, 1964 he was first married to Carole Richter, later in life on December 6, 1975 he was united in marriage to Janet Disch. Gary worked for the Wisconsin Southern Railroad for over thirty years until retiring in April 2009, and also farmed during his life.

Gary is survived by his wife Janet Figy of Monticello, WI, sons Brian (Valerie) Figy of Appleton, WI, Dr. Terrance (Toni) Figy of Manchester, U.K., step-sons Dale (Debbie) Losenegger of Monroe, WI, Barney (Cheryl Bechtolt) Losenegger of Juda, WI, step-daughters Marie (Tim) Miller of Belleville, WI and Tammy (John) Mulcahy of Darlington, WI, sixteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, brother Dwayne (Barb) Figy of Deforest, WI, a step-brother Jerry (Elena) Marty of California, sister Merida (Dan) Baker of Monticello, WI, step-sisters Judy Siegel of Madison, WI and Karen (Don) Rule of Monroe, WI, a niece, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father John Marty.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Swiss United Church of Christ, 18 Fifth Ave., New Glarus, WI with the Rev. Craig Jan-McMahon officiating with burial in the Swiss Church Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the Zentner-Beal Funeral Home, 29 Sixth Ave., New Glarus, WI.

A memorial fund has been established.
