Doris O. Pederson , age 89 of New Glarus, formerly of Monroe and Monticello, died Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the New Glarus Nursing Home. Doris was born March 29, 1923 in Iowa County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Alvin and Julia (Alfred) Hendrickson. She married Norman Pederson on August 2, 1941. They farmed in Argyle before moving to Monroe where Doris was employed at Oaktron Industries for 32 years. She later moved to Monticello where she was a member of the Washington Reformation UCC, rural Monticello.

Survivors include three sons, Dave (Carolyn) Pederson of Sauk City, WI, Ralph Pederson of Monticello, and Jerry (Beverly) Pederson of rural Monroe; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman, on Oct. 7, 1981; two brothers, Kermit and Luther Hendrickson; and two sisters, Arlene Pederson and Clara Hale.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Washington Reformation United Church of Christ, rural Monticello, with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be at the Voegeli-Newcomer Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
