Alice Jean Ogden (Schumann), 75, lost her battle with cancer on August 18, 2012, at Mercy Hospice House, in Johnston, Iowa, surrounded by her family.

A Memorial service will be held, 3:00 p.m. September 2, 2012, at Memorial Services of Iowa funeral home (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd., Ankeny, IA).

Alice was born November 7, 1936, in New Providence, Iowa.

She was married to Donald W. Ogden, and lived in Monroe and La Crosse, WI, before moving to Ankeny, IA.

She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and following the progress of her three children and nine grandchildren.

Alice is survived by her children, Kevin (Comhairle) Ogden, Elizabeth (Timothy) Carlson, and Eric (Sharon) Ogden; her grandchildren, Matthew, Sean, Aodan, Armelle, David, Rochelle, Reiltin, Jacqueline, and Colin; her brothers, Carl and Joe, and her sister, Roberta.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Jean; her husband, Donald; and her sister Elizabeth.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or Mercy Hospice.
