APPLE RIVER, IL - Agnes M. Williams, age 69, of Apple River, IL, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at OSF St. Anthony Hospital. She was born on November 16, 1939 in Menominee, IL, to Joseph and Margaret (Vogt) Upmann. She married Beverly Williams on October 15, 1961 in Galena, IL. She was a homemaker all of her life and also worked as a waitress at numerous restaurants in the area, The Roost, Lee's Gas Light, The Cove and The Frontier Inn. She also worked at various factory jobs throughout the years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Apple River.

She liked to play cards and bingo, she loved her family and grandchildren. She served as the family counselor, and was always there for their needs. She offered meals in her home to many in need for the holidays.

She is survived by her husband; five children: Mary (Dennis) Foley of Apple River, IL, Julia (Jeff) Tuescher of Browntown, WI, Denise (Steven) Mosley of Darlington, WI, Mike (Teri) Williams of Warren, IL and Thomas (Tracy) Williams of Apple River, IL; nine grandchildren; four brothers: James (Monica) Upmann of Shullsburg, WI, Leo (Janet) Upmann of Apple River, IL, Willard (Donna) Upmann of Warren, IL and Lyle (Sue) Upmann of Apple River, IL; her sister and best friend, Helen (Larry) Noble of Gratiot, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Joe Upmann.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday April 25, 2009 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Apple River, IL. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday April 24, 2009 at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren. Officiating will be Father Howard Barch. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.
