Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of March 17-23, police performed 26 security checks, 27 citizen assists, nine assists of other agencies, 15 vehicle registrations and eight follow-ups to incidents; responded to 11 calls for service, five EMS calls and 15 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made 14 traffic stops. There were no fire calls and no detox or mental health transports.

On Monday, March 18:

●  Police noticed a suspicious vehicle at 4:07 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 5th Avenue. Contact was made, and it was an employee.

●  Fraud involving information given out over the phone was reported at 4:17 p.m. in the 900 block of East 3rd Avenue.

On Tuesday, March 19:

●  A Freeport man, 65, was cited for speeding at 3:33 p.m. in the 700 block of 4th Street.

●  Suspicious conduct involving a person taking pictures was reported at 6:07 p.m. in the 300 block of 4th Street.

On Wednesday, March 20:

●  A hit-and-run accident was reported at 5:53 p.m. in the 700 block of 1st Center Avenue.

On Thursday, March 21:

●  A scam caller using a local phone number was reported at 9:55 a.m. The call’s recipient did not give out information or money.

●  A vehicle parked for over 48 hours was reported at 3:30 p.m. in the 300 block of 23rd Street. Police made contact with the owner, who will remove it when they are well.

On Friday, March 22:

●  An animal at large was reported at 1:02 p.m. in the 1400 block of 15th Street. Police located the owner and issued a warning.

● A gas drive-off was reported at 5:34 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue.

● A possible theft was reported at 8 p.m. in the 1000 block of 19th Street.

● A Darlington man, 33, was cited for speeding at 9:13 p.m. in the 400 block of 1st Street.


Darlington Police

DARLINGTON — On Thursday, March 21:

● Cody A. Nielsen, 18, Darlington, was arrested on a Lafayette County warrant at about 5:25 p.m. following contact at a residence on East Lucy Street. Nielsen posted bond and was released.

● Timothy H. Woods, 48, Darlington, was arrested on a Lafayette County felony warrant at about 9:05 p.m. following contact at a residence on Ohio Street. Woods was jailed pending court.


Monroe Police

MONROE — Thomas A. McLean, 31, Monroe, was arrested for a probation violation in the 1700 block of 30th Avenue at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, March 23. He was jailed.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Balbino Castellon-Castellon, 56, Madison, was cited for driving without a valid license (second offense within three years) in the W2900 block of Wis. 92, Town of Exeter, at 9:34 a.m. Thursday, March 21.

● Trenton D. Disch, 21, New Glarus, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while under the influence of alcohol after deputies stopped a vehicle at the intersection of County N and Wis. 81, Town of Monroe, at 12:37 a.m. Saturday, March 23. Disch was also cited for failure to stop for a stop sign and operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration greater than 0.15 percent. A passenger in the vehicle, Jacob S. Holler, 23, New Glarus, was cited for having open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. Disch and Holler were released to a responsible person pending court.

On Sunday, March 24:

● Abigail J. Fish, 19, Monroe, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after deputies stopped the vehicle she was driving for an equipment violation at 2:26 a.m. in the W2000 block of Wis. 11, Town of Spring Grove.

● Patrick M. Bluett, 35, Freeport, was arrested on a Green County warrant for failure to appear in court after deputies stopped the vehicle he was driving for a speeding violation at 5:23 p.m. in the N100 block of Wis. 69, Town of Clarno. He was jailed pending court or posting of bond.

DARLINGTON — On Thursday, March 7:

●  A civil dispute was reported at 5:17 p.m. on Galena Street, Town of Darlington.

●  Blake A. Anderson-McGonigle, 21, Platteville, was arrested and jailed for a probation violation after a deputy responded to a domestic dispute at 7:55 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont. Belmont police assisted on scene.

On Friday, March 8:

●  A deputy assisted the Darlington Police Department with a disorderly conduct complaint at 3:41 a.m. on East Street in Darlington.

●  A deputy came upon livestock on the roadway at 6:20 a.m. on Ames Branch Road, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A parking problem was reported at 8:11 a.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  A disabled vehicle was reported at 8:54 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.

●  Threatening messages were reported at 1:31 p.m. on East Truth Street in Shullsburg.

●  Carrie A. Schaar, 36, Shullsburg, was arrested on a warrant during a traffic stop at 5:30 p.m. on Wells Street in Darlington. She was taken to the jail, where she posted bond. Darlington police assisted on scene.

●  A deputy assisted the Darlington Police Department with an alarm at 6:28 p.m. on Wells Street in Darlington.

●  Heather P. Ortiz, 39, Shullsburg, was cited for an expired registration and no vehicle insurance at 8:45 p.m. on West Estey Street in Shullsburg.

●  Ethan R. Pederson, 20, Platteville, was cited for no vehicle insurance, inadequate muffler and reckless driving at 9:55 p.m. on Furnace Hill Road, Town of Willow Springs.

●  A deputy assisted a motorist at 11:37 p.m. on Wis. 126, Town of Belmont. Belmont EMS and Belmont police assisted on scene.

On Saturday, March 9:

●  Samuel C. Marzahl, 25, Belmont, was cited for failure to obey an officer’s signal at 12:03 a.m. on Wis. 126, Town of Belmont.

●  A deputy assisted the Shullsburg Police Department with a welfare check at 12:15 a.m. on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg.

●  A domestic dispute was reported at 1:51 a.m. on South Galena Street in South Wayne.

●  A deputy responded to unlock a vehicle at 7:29 a.m. on West Wood Street in Shullsburg.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 10:40 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Benton.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 12:09 p.m. on Leahy Road, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A deputy responded to unlock a vehicle at 1:39 p.m. on Sheldon Street in Gratiot.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 7:30 p.m. on Sale Barn Road, Town of Elk Grove.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 7:52 p.m. on Riverside Road, Town of Wiota.

●  A deputy assisted the Lafayette County Highway Department at 8:29 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

●  Drew P. McCarthy, 18, Benton was cited for driving without vehicle insurance at 1:05 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Benton.

●  Rogelio Tornero-Hernandez, 30, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license at 3:21 a.m. on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg.

●  Trespassing was reported at 8:49 a.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 11:16 a.m. on Creek Drive in Benton.

●  A deputy assisted the Darlington Police Department with an alarm at 2:34 p.m. on Wis. 81 in Darlington.

●  A parking problem was reported at 4:55 p.m. on County W, Town of New Diggings.

●  Kevin A. Shawcross, 35, Shullsburg, was arrested on a valid Grant County warrant during a traffic stop at 7:57 p.m. on South Kennedy Street in Shullsburg. He was transported to the county line, where his custody was changed over a Grant County deputy. Shawcross was also cited for driving with a suspended license, non-registration of a motor vehicle and driving without vehicle insurance.

●  Mario Mayahua-Tlehuactle, 28, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license or vehicle insurance after deputies responded to a traffic complaint at 9:05 p.m. on County E, Town of Darlington.

●  Carrie A. Schaar, 36, Shullsburg, was cited for possession of marijuana at 11:27 p.m. on North Iowa Street in Shullsburg.

On Monday, March 11:

●  An alarm was reported at 8:09 a.m. on Wis. 11 in South Wayne.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 4:13 p.m. on South Division Street in South Wayne

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 6:14 p.m. on King Road, Town of Willow Springs.

●  An injured deer was reported at 8:44 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of New Diggings.

On Tuesday, March 12:

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 5:55 a.m. on Miner Way in Shullsburg.

●  A theft was reported at 6:59 a.m. on West Estey Street in Shullsburg.

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 7:40 a.m. on County K, Town of Gratiot.

●  A deputy responded to unlock a vehicle at 9:41 a.m. on County G, Town of Darlington.

●  A deputy provided traffic control at 4:44 p.m. on County J, Town of Benton.

●  Dennis C. Schulze, 30, Gratiot, was cited for driving with a suspended license and no vehicle insurance at 6:52 p.m. on Park Avenue in Argyle.

●  Clay A. Spooner, 20, Albany, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign at 8:47 p.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont.

●  Dustin P. Yanochik, 26, Dodgeville, was arrested for warrants at 9:48 p.m. and transported to the jail.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 12:02 a.m. on East High Street in Shullsburg.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 12:16 p.m. on County U, Town of Seymour.

●  Deputies responded for a welfare check at 4:39 p.m. on County Y, Town of Wiota.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 5:37 p.m. on County G, Town of Belmont.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 7:36 p.m. on County U, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A deputy assisted UW-Platteville Campus Police at 10:01 p.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont.
