Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of June 21-27, police performed 66 security checks, 28 citizen assists, 13 assists of other agencies, eight follow-ups to incidents, 17 vehicle registrations and four traffic stops; responded to 31 calls for service and reported eight EMS calls and 19 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls. There was one detox transport. No fire calls or mental health transports were reported.

On June 21:

●  A Brodhead man, 30, was arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated and reckless driving at 2:32 a.m. in the 1100 block of West 2nd Avenue.

●  A person reported having a firecracker thrown at them at 2:58 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A traffic hazard of a power line down at an intersection was reported at 7:33 p.m. in the 1200 block of East 4th Avenue. Police assisted at the scene until Brodhead Water & Light responded.

●  Damage to a vehicle was reported at 8:02 p.m. in the 1000 block of 21st Street.

●  A fireworks violation was reported at 9:18 p.m. in the 900 block of 19th Street. Police patrolled the area but did not locate the source of the violation.

On June 22:

●  A hazard of a garbage can in the roadway was reported at 4:53 a.m. in the 400 block of East 3rd Avenue. It was removed.

On June 23:

●  Theft was reported at 2:01 p.m. in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A code violation of semis off the heavy truck route were reported at 4:55 p.m. in the 700 block of 10th Street. Police made contact, and the matter was resolved.

●  A fireworks violation was reported at 9:07 p.m. in the 1700 block of 11th Street. Police patrolled the area but did not locate the source of the violation.

On June 24:

●  A Monroe man, 50, was cited for driving without a valid license at 1:27 p.m. in the 1800 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 5:05 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. It was determined to be an oversight. The matter was resolved.

On June 25:

●  A Brodhead man, 29, was cited for driving without a valid license (second offense within three years) at 5:05 a.m. in the 600 block of 7th Street.

●  A dog bite was reported at 2:37 p.m. in the 2300 block of 1st Center Avenue. The matter was referred to Green County Public Health.

On June 26:

●  A Brodhead man, 33, was cited for disorderly conduct at 4:32 a.m. in the 800 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  Fraud involving worthless checks was reported at 12:44 p.m. in the 1600 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  Damage to a vehicle was reported at 2:08 p.m. in the 500 block of 9th Street. The vehicle had been keyed.

●  Harassment involving one person continually contacting another person was reported at 4:05 p.m. in the 600 block of East Exchange Street.

On June 27:

●  An Edgerton man, 58, was contacted for a probation violation at 12:47 a.m. in the 1100 block of 1st Center Avenue. The matter was referred to the Green County District Attorney’s Office.

●  A fraudulent check received in the mail was reported at 9:20 a.m. in the 1000 block of 13th Street. Police advised the complainant to dispose of the check.


Monroe Police

MONROE — On June 26:

●  Julia A. Long, 29, Leaf River, Illinois, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated at 2:26 a.m. at 17th Street and 13th Avenue. She was also cited for operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration and for making an improper stop at a stop sign. She was released to a responsible party pending court.

●  Donald J. Alexander, 28, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct under Wisconsin’s Domestic Violence Laws at 8:19 p.m. after officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 200 block of 4th Avenue. He was released pending court after posting the required cash bail.


Monticello Police

MONTICELLO — On June 19:

●  A parking complaint was reported at 8:34 p.m. in the 200 block of Oak Ridge Avenue. Contact was made with the driver, and the vehicle was moved.

●  At 11:14 p.m. at East Coates Avenue and North Pratt Road, David R. Raker, 27, Monroe, was cited for driving with a revoked license and a defective registration lamp light and a 16-year-old was cited for possession of marijuana.

On June 20:

●  A 911 hangup was reported at 2:17 a.m. in the 100 block of North Main Street. Contact was made, and everything appeared to be fine.

●  Trespassing was reported at 10:40 a.m. in the 200 block of North Main Street. The owner of a business no longer wanted a person on their property. Police informed the person they would be arrested for trespassing if they entered the business.

●  Grass taller than eight inches was reported at 11:14 a.m. in the 600 block of Terrace Court.

●  A parking complaint was reported at 3:04 p.m. in the 200 block of Oak Ridge Avenue. Police made contact and determined everything was OK.

●  A locked-out resident was reported at 7:08 p.m. in the 400 block of East Coates Avenue. Police made contact with a keyholder who unlocked the door.

●  A fraudulent phone call was reported at 7:15 p.m. in the 400 block of East Coates Avenue.

●  A 911 hangup was reported at 9:35 p.m. in the 500 block of Montesian Court. Contact was made, and everything appeared to be fine.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 9:50 p.m. in the 100 block of Wis. 69. Everything appeared to be fine.

●  A 16-year-old was cited for underage drinking at 11:42 p.m. in the 100 block of Wis. 69.

On June 21:

●  A disturbance on a sidewalk downtown was reported at 12:59 a.m. As a result, Kayla Fitzgerald, 30, and Lauren Shulka, 43, were cited for disorderly conduct.

●  Police issued one parking ticket at 3:04 a.m. for parking on North Main Street between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 6 a.m.

On June 22:

●  A fraudulent phone call informing the recipient they were a Publishers Clearing House winner was reported at 12:32 p.m.

●  Monticello First Response was dispatched at 12:48 p.m. Police assisted with traffic control.

●  Four people were cited for failure to wear a seatbelt during three traffic stops at Wis. 69 and West Coates Avenue between 4:27 p.m. and 5:20 p.m.: Jason Covert, 36, Juda; Jace Dunlavey, 30, Monroe; Sky Hoffman, 20, Monroe; and Dale Trumpy, 54, Monticello.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at a business at 5:55 p.m. on Wis. 69.

●  Police assisted with unlocking a vehicle at 7:02 p.m. in the 700 block of Washington Street.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 7:59 p.m. in the 100 block of Wis. 69.

On June 23:

●  Police issued one parking ticket at 3:04 a.m. for parking on North Main Street between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 6 a.m.

●  A fraudulent phone call regarding refinancing was reported at 12:07 p.m.

●  Ryan T. Paynter, 36, Monticello, was cited for driving with a suspended license and failure to wear a seatbelt at 3:51 p.m. at Wis. 69 and West Coates Avenue.

●  Keith J. Schlafli, 33, Argyle, was cited for failure to wear a seatbelt at 4:13 p.m. at Wis. 69 and West Coates Avenue.

●  Owen Boss, 54, Albany, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated at 4:27 p.m. at East Wisconsin Avenue and South Pratt Road. He was also cited for speeding, operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration and not carrying a license.

●  Sterling Morrow, 34, Monticello, was cited for a child safety restraint violation at 5:14 p.m. on Wis. 69 at West Coates Avenue.

●  Kenneth Ross II, 22, Hollandale, was cited for no proof of vehicle insurance at 5:49 p.m. on Wis. 69 at West Coates Avenue.

On June 25:

●  Police assisted a truck with an unsecured load at 12:20 p.m. on East Wisconsin Avenue at Adams Road.

●  Police received a Facebook message requesting a welfare check at 12:24 p.m. It was for the wrong Monticello Police Department.

●  A semi traveling in the 700 block of East Lake Avenue was reported at 3 p.m. Police checked the area and did not locate the semi.

●  John Cadogan, 41, Monticello, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 5:50 p.m.  on Staedtler Avenue at North Monroe Street.

●  Stephen Lynch, 19, Monroe, was cited for driving without carrying a license at 6:39 p.m. on West Coates Avenue at Wis. 69.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On June 11:

●  A disabled vehicle was reported at 9:01 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington.

●  Richard A. Moen, 60, Blanchardville, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and battery after deputies responded at 9:03 p.m. to Knoll Street in Blanchardville for a domestic disturbance. He was booked at the jail and later posted bond.

●  A vehicle lockout was reported at 9:21 p.m. on Mink Farm Road, Town of Wayne.

On June 12:

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 2:56 a.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

●  Criminal damage to property was reported at 3:54 a.m. on West Mound View Avenue in Belmont.

●  Tiffany M. Ross, 28, Platteville, was cited for driving without a valid license at 6:07 a.m. on West Platteville Avenue, Town of Belmont. She was booked at the jail and released.

●  A vehicle in the ditch was reported at 6:12 a.m. on County X, Town of Elk Grove.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 9:03 a.m. on Pikes Peak Lane, Town of Blanchard.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 3:52 p.m. on Carr Factory Road, Town of Benton.

●  A vehicle lockout was reported at 6:47 p.m. on Creek Drive in Benton.

●  Brianna L. Bresnahan, 30, Asbury, Iowa, was cited for speeding at 8:36 p.m. on County O, Town of White Oak Springs.

●  A deputy assisted Darlington police with an ATV complaint at 10:09 p.m. on Christensen Drive in Darlington.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 10:24 p.m. on Edison Road, Town of Benton.

On June 13:

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 4:45 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Elk Grove.

●  A deputy responded at 7:33 a.m. to Wis. 81, Town of Darlington, to assist Darlington police with a commercial alarm.

●  Toni T. Kraft, 27, Argyle, was cited for driving without a valid license at 10:24 a.m. on County N, Town of Wayne.

●  A noise complaint of loud music was reported at 2:38 p.m. on Ohio Street in Darlington.

●  John C. Grilliot, 42, Orangeville, was cited for speeding at 6:04 p.m. on County O, Town of White Oak Springs.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 9:14 p.m. on Lancaster Road, Town of Darlington.

●  Lucas W. Stoney, 24, and Zachary L. Hastings, 29, both of Belmont, were cited for speeding while operating an ATV at 9:36 p.m. on County U, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A deputy responded at 10:23 p.m. to County J in Benton to assist Benton police with a welfare check.

On June 14:

●  Disorderly conduct involving a domestic dispute between two people outside a parked vehicle was reported at 12:41 a.m. at the intersection of Wis. 78 and River Road, Town of Argyle. A deputy was unable to locate the vehicle.

●  A caller at 12:57 a.m. reported hearing footsteps in the house at a residence on County I, Town of New Diggings. Responding officers, including Shullsburg and Belmont police, were unable to find anyone, and nothing was missing.

●  Christopher E. Singleton, 28, Green Bay, was cited for speeding at 11:58 a.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Platteville police assisted.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 12:22 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington.

●  A deputy responded to assist the Jo Daviess Sheriff’s Office at 12:46 p.m. on County KK, Town of Gratiot.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 4:12 p.m. on Prairie Road, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 5:42 p.m. on North Happy Street in Shullsburg.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 6:49 p.m. on County M, Town of Wiota.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 9:39 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Wayne.

●  Jessica L. Sue, 19, South Wayne, was cited for speeding at 10:02 p.m. on Wis. 126, Town of Elk Grove.

●  Dalton T. Richardson, 26, Mineral Point, was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated after a deputy responded at 10:26 p.m. to North Mound Avenue in Belmont to assist Belmont police with a traffic stop.

On June 15:

●  Ryan S. Horsfield, 34, Cuba City, was cited for driving left of center at 8:20 a.m. on County A, Town of Monticello.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 9:13 a.m. on County U, Town of Seymour.

●  Kristopher A. Leitzinger, 21, Linden, was arrested at 10:08 a.m. on felony domestic abuse-related charges of strangulation and substantial battery. He was jailed. His signature bond is set at $2,000 with conditions that he have no contact with a Darlington woman or her residence.

●  An animal problem was reported at 2:55 p.m. on County J, Town of Benton.

●  A domestic dispute was reported at 5:15 p.m. on West Riverside Road, Town of Gratiot.

●  A deputy assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office in Green County at 6:47 p.m.

On June 16:

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 4:50 a.m. on Blake Street in Blanchardville.

●  Deputies responded to check welfare at 5:26 a.m. on County Shop Road, Town of Darlington.

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 1:55 p.m. on Mink Farm Road, Town of Wayne.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 3:06 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Wayne.

●  A deputy responded at 5:07 p.m. to County E, Town of Darlington, to assist a motorist.

●  A deputy responded at 5:36 p.m. to County W, Town of Benton, for traffic control.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 5:56 p.m. on Old Q Road, Town of Argyle.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 8:59 p.m. on Gun Club Road, Town of Darlington.

On June 17:

●  Deputies responded at 1:17 a.m. to U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

●  An erratic driver was reported at 12:35 p.m. on County P, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A deputy responded at 3:57 p.m. to Wells Street in Darlington to assist Darlington police with a commercial alarm.

●  A deputy responded at 4:16 p.m. to Silverthorn Road, Town of New Diggings.

●  An erratic driver was reported at 7:28 p.m. on Sunny Lane, Town of Belmont. Belmont police assisted a deputy in the response.

●  A deputy responded at 9:22 p.m. to Highland Street in Belmont to assist Belmont police with a welfare check.

On June 18:

●  Deputies responded to check welfare at 1:54 a.m. at the Evergreen Village Mobile Home Park, 30972 County XX, Town of Belmont. A resident woke up and thought someone was in the trailer. Belmont police assisted on scene.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 6:17 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Elk Grove, and at 7:30 a.m. on Bean Street, Town of New Diggings.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 1:34 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Gratiot.
