Albany Police

ALBANY — On Sunday, Feb. 24:

●  Roberto Morales Ramirez, 32, Fitchburg, was cited for driving with a suspended license and non-registration of an auto.

●  Jessica L. Sandlin, 32, Albany, was cited for driving with a revoked license.


Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of Feb. 17-23, police performed 27 security checks, 39 citizen assists, nine assists of other agencies, 17 vehicle registrations and five follow-ups to incidents; responded to 177 calls for service, five EMS calls and nine 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made 25 traffic stops. There were no fire calls or detox or mental health transports.

On Sunday, Feb. 17:

●  A Brodhead man, 44, was arrested on a Wisconsin Department of Corrections warrant at 8:50 p.m. in the 1200 block of 16th Street.

On Monday, Feb. 18:

●  A traffic crash in which a vehicle hit a pole was reported at 6:17 a.m. in the 200 block of East 10th Avenue. No citations were issued.

●  Seven citations for violations of the winter parking ordinance were issued.

On Tuesday, Feb. 19:

●  A Monroe woman, 22, was cited for speeding at 9:29 p.m. in the 400 block of 1st Street.

●  A dog at large was reported at 11:31 p.m. in the 700 block of 14th Street. A warning was issued.

On Friday, Feb. 22:

●  A minor traffic crash was reported at 11:16 a.m. in a parking lot in the 300 block of 23rd Street. No citations were issued.

●  A Freeport man, 36, was cited for speeding at 1:07 p.m. in the 500 block of East 9th Avenue.

●  A Brodhead woman, 58, was cited for failure to slow down or move over for an emergency vehicle at 1:50 p.m. in the 700 block of 1st Street.

●  A Freeport man, 32, was cited for speeding at 5:38 p.m. in the N500 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A Winnebago, Illinois man, 33, was cited for speeding at 6:22 p.m. in the 300 block of East 9th Avenue.

On Saturday, Feb. 23:

●  A Rockton, Illinois man, 29, was cited for speeding at 4:34 p.m. in the 500 block of East 9th Avenue.

●  A Brodhead man, 37, was cited for non-registration of an auto at 5:10 p.m. in the 1000 block of 4th Street.

●  A Brodhead man, 39, was cited for having a loaded firearm in a vehicle at 6:12 p.m. in the 1900 block of 1st Center Avenue. A passenger, a 36-year-old Brodhead man, was also cited for having a loaded firearm in the vehicle. Another passenger, a 36-year-old Mapleton, Illinois man, was cited for having open intoxicants in the vehicle.


Monroe Police 

MONROE — Louis R. Mendonca, 75, Monroe, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and battery under Wisconsin’s domestic violence laws following an investigation at a residence in the 400 block of 21st Street at 1:13 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21. He was jailed.

●  Tristan M. Rosenstiel, 21, Monroe, was arrested on charges of possessing THC and drug paraphernalia after officers stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of 19th Avenue at 12:11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23. Rosenstiel was also cited for driving with a revoked license (fourth offense) and driving without vehicle insurance. A passenger, Hannah M.K. Willis, 20, Belmont, was arrested on a charge of obstructing police and cited for underage drinking after she lied to police about her age and gave a fake date of birth. Both Rosenstiel and Willis were released pending court.

On Sunday, Feb. 24:

●  Cody J. Martin, 25, Brodhead, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct after police responded at 1:22 a.m. to a report of a disturbance at a bar in the 1400 block of 17th Street. Officers arrived to find the alleged instigator, identified as Martin, had left the bar, but he was located nearby by a Green County Sheriff’s deputy. Martin was also wanted in connection to an earlier fight at a downtown bar in which a male victim was punched in the face and lost consciousness. Martin was jailed, then released after posting bond.

●  Jeffery K. Norton, 32, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct under Wisconsin’s domestic violence laws, as well as two counts of bail jumping, after officers responded to a domestic disturbance at 10:26 p.m. at a residence in the 2800 block of 13th Street. Officers determined Norton had violated his court-ordered bond conditions by consuming alcohol and becoming involved in other crimes. He was taken to the Monroe Clinic ER for medical clearance, then jailed pending court. He was also referred for charges related to causing a disturbance in the ER.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Karol R. Schulz, 54, Brodhead, was arrested on a Crawford County warrant for failure to pay a fine after deputies stopped a vehicle in the 2100 block of Wis. 69 in Monroe at 12:29 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21. She was also cited for driving without a valid license and non-registration of an auto. She was transported to the jail, then released after bond was posted.

On Friday, Feb. 22:

●  Melyssa D. Caldwell, 22, Brodhead, was taken into custody at 9:53 a.m. on a probation and parole warrant, then jailed pending court.

●  Paul Ramirez Castro, 31, Brodhead, was cited for driving with a revoked license (OWI related) at 11:33 a.m. in the W1200 block of Pedee Road, Town of Spring Grove.

●  Julio Vacquez, 17, Monroe, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while under the influence of alcohol after deputies were notified at 7:36 p.m. of a vehicle in the ditch in the N1800 block of Wis. 69, Town of Clarno. Vacquez was also cited for driving without a valid license (third offense), unsafe lane deviation, possession of open intoxicants in a motor vehicle, underage drinking and failure to notify law enforcement of an accident. He was later released pending court.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Wednesday, Feb. 20:

●  Harassment was reported at 2:32 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  Fraud was reported at 3:18 p.m. on Pikes Peak Lane in Blanchardville.

●  An injured deer was reported at 6:07 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 10:35 p.m. on White School Road, Town of Gratiot.

●  Harassment was reported at 10:57 p.m. on County D, Town of Wayne.

On Thursday, Feb. 21:

●  Deputies assisted Shullsburg police with a report of a restraining order violation at 7:50 a.m. on West Water Street in Shullsburg.

●  Trespassing was reported at 8:42 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A noise complaint was reported at 10:41 a.m. on West Center Street in South Wayne.

●  A deputy responded for a welfare check at 3:39 p.m. on South Galena Street in South Wayne.

●  An animal bite was reported at 4:10 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 5:53 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Wayne.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 7:52 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Wayne.

●  John J. Crosby, 33, Darlington, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance at 9:38 p.m. on County H, Town of Benton.

●  Theft was reported at 11:28 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

On Friday, Feb. 22:

●  Deputies responded at 7:18 a.m. to assist the Benton Police Department with a commercial alarm on West Main Street in Benton.

●  Juan E. Cruz-Roman, 34, Darlington, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 2:01 p.m. on Keep Street in Darlington.

●  A deputy responded for a welfare check at 2:55 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  A deputy responded for a welfare check at 3:42 p.m. on Noble Street in Gratiot.

●  John J. Super Jr., 43, Blanchardville, was cited for driving left of center at 8:47 p.m. on County F, Town of Darlington.

On Saturday, Feb. 23:

●  A parking problem was reported at 5:32 a.m. on School Street in Blanchardville.

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 2:13 p.m. in Miner Way in Shullsburg.

●  Jennifer E. Townsend, 37, Warren, was cited for an expired vehicle registration at 8:54 p.m. on County W, Town of Monticello.

●  A deputy responded for a welfare check at 9:23 p.m. on County G, Town of Willow Springs.

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 9:51 p.m. on County P, Town of Gratiot. The Lafayette County Highway Department assisted on scene.

●  A traffic hazard was reported at 10:21 p.m. on Wis. 126, Town of Belmont. The Lafayette County Highway Department assisted on scene.

●  Deputies reposed for a welfare check at 10:48 p.m. on West Water Street in Shullsburg.

On Sunday, Feb. 24:

●  Debris on the roadway was reported at 2:04 a.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

●  A traffic hazard of water over the roadway was reported at 3:24 a.m. on County K, Town of Gratiot. The Lafayette County Highway Department assisted on scene.

●  A deputy responded to assist with unlocking a vehicle at 5:31 a.m. on West Mound View Avenue in Belmont.

●  A deputy assisted with traffic control at 8:29 a.m. on County E, Town of Darlington.

●  A parking problem was reported at 9:03 a.m. on South Galena Street in South Wayne.

●  A traffic hazard of a power line on the road was reported at 1:44 p.m. on County B, Town of Belmont.ville police assisted.
