Monticello Police

MONTICELLO — On Aug. 10:

●  Police responded to check welfare at 11:35 a.m. in the 100 block of Wis. 69. The investigation is ongoing.

●  Police assisted the Dane County Sheriff’s Office with a background investigation at 12:55 p.m.

●  Small branches down on various streets due to severe weather was reported at 2 p.m. The branches were removed.

On Aug. 11:

●  A person consuming alcohol and tobacco at the Monticello School was reported at 11:28 a.m. As a result, Rebekah A. Bak, 24, Monticello, was cited for open intoxicants.

On Aug. 12:

●  Tyler A. Ripp, 40, Monticello, was cited for driving without a valid license and no vehicle insurance at 11:04 a.m. in the 100 block of Wis. 69.

●  A burning violation was reported at 11:22 a.m. in the 600 block of East Lake Avenue.

●  Harassment was reported at 11:23 a.m. in the 100 block of North Main Street.

●  A citizen located a lost license plate at 1:50 p.m. It was returned to its owner.

●  A parking violation was reported at 3:10 p.m. near Staedtler Avenue and North Monroe Street. The vehicle was issued a citation and tagged for impound if not moved in 24 hours.

On Aug. 13:

●  Police received a parking complaint at 2:30 a.m. in the 200 block of North Main Street. A citation was issued.

●  An unmaintained lawn was reported at 9:53 a.m. in the 200 block of East Lake Avenue. Eric B. Carroll, 61, Brodhead, was cited for having grass taller than eight inches.

●  A parking violation was reported at 10:50 a.m. near Staedtler Avenue and North Monroe Street.

●  Meylin Y. Talavera Rodriguez, 32, Belleville, was cited for no vehicle insurance and excessive window tinting at 12:05 p.m. on East Coates Avenue at Aeberhard Drive.

●  Police assisted CDA Housing Operations with a background investigation at 5:03 p.m.


Albany Police

ALBANY — On Aug. 15:

●  Chad R. Heins, 40, Albany, was cited for failure to notify police of an accident.

●  Chelsea R. Neuenschwander, 27, Madison, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while under the influence, operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration and driving left of center.

●  Christian D. Jackson, 41, Madison, was arrested on charges of felony battery to a police officer, resisting arrest and obstructing an officer. In Green County Circuit Court on Aug. 18, his signature bond was set at $10,000 with conditions that he not drink or go into bars or liquor stores. His preliminary hearing is Oct. 8.

On Aug. 16:

●  Justin T. Cusack, 19, Jefferson, was cited for underage drinking and possession of alcohol.

●  Johnathan R. Hargan, 23, Rockford, Illinois, was cited for driving with a suspended license.


Darlington Police

DARLINGTON — Olegario Duran-Duran, 45, Darlington, was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated at 1 a.m. Aug. 8 on Clay Street. He was also cited for driving left of center, no valid license, no vehicle insurance and unsafe backing after backing into a police car.

●  Robert W. Monroe, 30, Rib Lake, was arrested on a charge of driving with a revoked license at 5:47 p.m. Aug. 10 on Driver Street.

●  Salvador Ayala-Mendoza, 22, Darlington, was cited for no vehicle insurance and hit-and-run causing property damage on Aug. 13 following a complaint of a mailbox that was hit the day before on County Shop Road.

●  Alexis Roa, 18, Dubuque, Iowa, was cited for underage drinking at 10:52 p.m. Aug. 14 on Wis. 81. A passenger, Casiano A. Garcia, 21, Platteville, was cited for possession of open intoxicants.

●  A Darlington male, 15, was cited for driving without a valid license at 1:52 a.m. Aug. 15 on Ohio Street.

●  Roberto C. Bravo-Gaitan, 25, Darlington, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated at 2:33 a.m. Aug 15 on Mary Street. He was also cited for driving without a valid license and no vehicle insurance.

●  Eddie S. Bennett, 43, Darlington, was arrested on charges of false imprisonment, domestic disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property and possession of THC at 2:16 a.m. Aug. 16 at a Ravine Street residence. He was jailed.

●  Lawrence Wedig, 71, Darlington, was cited for noxious weeds at a property on Louisa Street on Aug. 17 following a complaint by the Weed Commissioner.

●  Douglas Love II, 31, Milwaukee, was arrested on two felony warrants out of Milwaukee County at 10:40 a.m. Aug. 18 after police and a Lafayette County deputy responded to a tip at a Washington Street residence. One of the warrants was for a sex offender registry violation charge filed in January. Love was jailed.


Monroe Police

MONROE — On Aug. 18:

●  An engagement ring was found on the city’s west side at 2:42 p.m. and turned over to police.

●  Kenin L. Stewart Sr., 35, Lake in the Hills, Illinois, was arrested on a charge of obstructing an officer at 5:14 p.m. in the 1000 block of 4th Avenue West after providing a false name. He was also arrested on a Monroe Police Department warrant for failure to appear in court on charges of theft and ID theft for financial gain and on an apprehension request from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for a probation violation. He was jailed pending further proceedings.

●  Matthew R. Jensen, 25, Janesville, was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana at 6:21 p.m. in the W5300 block of Wis. 11. He was also cited for speeding, driving with a suspended license, non-registration of a vehicle and no vehicle insurance. He was released pending court. A passenger, Emily A. Revel, 23, Janesville, was cited for possession of marijuana.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On July 31:

●  A deputy assisted with traffic control at 1 p.m. on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg.

●  Wyat L. Bredeson, 17, Darlington, was cited for speeding at 4:59 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs.

●  A noise complaint of a barking dog was reported at 5:16 p.m. on East Prospect Street in South Wayne.

●  The theft of a 100-gallon propane tank was reported at 5:24 p.m. on Meier Road, Town of Wayne.

●  Kleyten L.C. Sweet, 16, Cuba City, was cited for speeding at 7:40 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Seymour. 

●  Elisa M. Frazier, 35, Naperville, Illinois, was cited for speeding at 8:06 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Seymour.

●  Criminal damage to property was reported at 10:44 p.m. on County R, Town of Seymour. The back window of a vehicle had been broken out, unknown by whom or by what.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 11:13 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Shullsburg.

On Aug. 1:

●  A suspicious person parked in a driveway was reported at 9:23 a.m. on County K, Town of Gratiot. The responding deputy did not locate the person or vehicle.

●  A gas drive-off was reported at 10:10 a.m. on Wis. 11 in Shullsburg.

●  Criminal damage to property was reported at 11:46 a.m. on Main Street in Gratiot. A woman reported she had a broken water pipe in the basement that may have been broken by an ex.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 2:03 p.m. on County O, Town of Shullsburg, at 5:22 p.m. on County KK, Town of Gratiot and at 10:22 p.m. on Walnut Street in Belmont.

●  A deputy came upon an ordinance violation at 6:30 p.m. on Main Street in Gratiot and at 6:51 p.m. on School Street in Gratiot. Both violations concerned cleaning up properties and unregistered vehicles.

●  A deputy assisted Argyle police with a vehicle lockout at 6:55 p.m. on South State Street in Argyle.

●  A vehicle in the ditch was reported at 10:12 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Blanchard. Blanchardville police assisted.

●  A complaint of loud music at Blackhawk Park was reported at 10:39 p.m. on County Y, Town of Wiota. The responding deputy was unable to locate the source.

On Aug. 2:

●  A deputy assisted Darlington police with a traffic stop at 12:26 a.m. on Catherine Street in Darlington.

●  A deputy assisted Platteville police at 2:20 a.m. on North 2nd Street in Platteville.

●  Anacelia Ortega-Diaz, 37, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license at 2:55 a.m. on Keep Street in Darlington after a report of a disabled vehicle.

●  Deputies assisted Darlington police with a hit-and-run accident at 2:56 a.m. on East Ann Street in Darlington.

●  An injured animal was reported at 6:21 a.m. on County G, Town of Wiota.

●  Eric L. Handfelt, 34, Benton, was cited for no proof of vehicle insurance at 1:54 p.m. on West Water Street in Shullsburg.

●  A vehicle lockout was reported at 3:56 p.m. on East High Street in Shullsburg.

●  Harassment was reported at 4:44 p.m. on Palmer Road, Town of Darlington. A farmer reported one of his farmhands was receiving threatening messages on his phone.

●  Deputies assisted the Grant County Sheriff’s Office at 6:22 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  A deputy assisted a motorist at 8:07 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Seymour. 

On Aug. 3:

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 9:40 a.m. on Carr Factory Road, Town of Benton.

●  An animal problem was reported at 11:42 a.m. on County G, Town of Belmont.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 2:31 p.m. on County K, Town of Darlington.

●  Deputies responded to a possible vehicle accident at 5:13 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 5:15 p.m. on Main Street in Gratiot.

●  Someone making threats to injure was reported at 5:56 p.m. on Mayer Road, Town of Wayne.

●  A deputy assisted a citizen at 6:09 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  Matthew W. Fenn, 35, Darlington, was arrested on a warrant at 6:53 p.m. on West Mary Street in Darlington. He was booked at the jail, posted bond and was released.

●  A vehicle lockout was reported at 7:46 p.m. on County G, Town of Willow Springs.

●  A disorderly conduct complaint was reported at 8:08 p.m. on North Van Buren Street in Benton.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 9:01 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington.

On Aug. 4:

●  A deputy responded to keep the peace at 11:23 a.m. on North Van Buren Street in Benton.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 1:34 p.m. on County J in Benton.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 4:56 p.m. on Ridge Road, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A disabled vehicle was reported at 5:09 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont.

●  Laura L. Gundlach, 52, Shullsburg, was arrested on five warrants at 6:12 p.m. on Christensen Drive in Darlington. She was booked at the jail, posted bond and was released.

●  Korey M. Wettstein, 17, Beloit, was cited for speeding at 6:55 p.m. on Dublin Road, Town of Darlington.

●  Eduin L. Murillo-Amador, 26, Belmont, was cited for driving without a valid license at 7:43 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs.

●  Harassment was reported at 8:32 p.m. on Meylor Lane, Town of Darlington.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 8:49 p.m. on Shea Drive, Town of Belmont and at 10:06 p.m. on Wis. 126, Town of Belmont.

●  A deputy responded for a report of a possible fire at 9:14 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle.

On Aug. 5:

●  A deputy assisted Darlington police with assisting a citizen at 1:34 a.m. on East Ann Street in Darlington.

●  Antoine J. Brown, 29, Potosi, was cited for possession of THC and failure to maintain brake light at 3:35 a.m.

●  A hazard of a tree in the roadway was reported at 4:30 a.m. on Larse Road, Town of Wayne.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 7:12 a.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Kendall.

●  An injured animal was reported at 11:30 a.m. on Everson Road, Town of Argyle.

●  A theft was reported at 4:04 p.m. on West Grove Street in South Wayne.

●  Someone making threats to injure was reported at 5:57 p.m. on West Center Street in South Wayne.

●  A hit-and-run accident was reported at 6:50 p.m. on Ridge Lane, Town of Belmont.

●  A deputy found a disabled vehicle at 10:09 p.m. on Short Cut Road, Town of Willow Springs. Salvador A. Ayala-Mendoza, 22, Darlington was arrested on a second-offense charge of driving without a valid license. He was cited for possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia and no vehicle insurance.
