Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of March 24-30, police performed 25 security checks, 30 citizen assists, four assists of other agencies, 20 vehicle registrations and seven follow-ups to incidents; responded to 23 calls for service, seven EMS calls, six fire calls and nine 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made 12 traffic stops. There were no detox or mental health transports.

On Sunday, June 24:

●  A person urinating in public was reported at 11 a.m. in the 400 block of 10th Street. Police did not locate the person.

●  A Rockford, Illinois man, 82, was cited for speeding at 12:49 p.m. in the 600 block of 1st Street.

●  A Wind Lake man, 58, was cited for speeding at 1:16 p.m. in the 500 block of 1st Street.

●  A Madison woman, 57, was cited for speeding at 2:13 p.m. in the 500 block fo 1st Street.

●  A Bangor woman, 55, was cited for speeding at 3:13 p.m. in the 500 block of 1st Street.

●  A Brodhead man, 31, was arrested at 8:38 p.m. on a warrant issued through Waukesha County Circuit Court. He was jailed.

On Monday, March 25:

●  A car horn going off for some time was reported at 5:24 a.m. in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue. The vehicle was located and the horn shut off.

●  Police responded to check welfare at 11:39 a.m. in the 400 block of 14th Street. The person was fine.

●  A person burning leaves was reported at 6:54 p.m. in the 1000 block of 21st Street. Police issued a verbal warning.

●  A code violation of debris blowing from one property onto another property was reported at 7:40 p.m. in the 700 block of West 2nd Avenue. Police made contact with the subject, and the subject was going to be cleaning the area.

●  A Brodhead man, 39, was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and for a graduated driver’s license violation at 9:26 p.m. in the 100 block of 10th Street.

On Tuesday, March 26:

●  A possible fraud was reported at 7:24 a.m. in the 700 block of East 4th Avenue.

●  A Brodhead man, 18, was cited for non-registration of a motor vehicle and operating without motor vehicle insurance at 8:33 p.m. in the 1200 block of 1st Center Avenue.

●  A suspicious condition was reported at 8:49 p.m. in the 2100 block of 1st Center Avenue.

On Wednesday, March 27:

●  A person playing music too loud was reported at 12:53 p.m. in the 400 block of 2nd Street. Police made contact, and the music was turned down.

On Thursday, March 28:

●  A subject came into the police department at 6:45 a.m. requesting a welfare check. Contact was made with the subject.

●  A parking complaint of a semi blocking driveways was reported at 5:34 p.m. in the 1500 block of 1st Center Avenue. Police issued a warning.

●  A possible smell of marijuana was reported at 9:15 p.m. in the 1600 block of 20th Street. Police did not locate marijuana in the area.

On Friday, March 29:

●  A Brodhead man, 23, was cited for non-registration of a motor vehicle at 2:19 a.m. in the 1300 block of 25th Street.

●  A property damage accident involving a person striking a parked vehicle was reported at 8:17 a.m. in the 300 block of 20th Street. No citations were issued. No injuries were reported.

●  A code violation of Dumpsters parked in a driveway was reported at 11:40 a.m. in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue.

On Saturday, March 30:

●  A Lanark, Illinois man, 24, was cited for speeding at 6:52 a.m. in the 500 block of East 9th Avenue.

●  A Janesville man, 36, was cited for speeding at 12:35 p.m. in the 100 block of East 9th Avenue.


Darlington Police

DARLINGTON — Rene Argueta-Alvarez, 59, Darlington, was cited for driving without a valid license, driving without vehicle insurance, non-registration of an auto and having open intoxicants on the street following a traffic crash investigation on Washington Street at 9:05 p.m. Friday, March 22.

●  Wilmer J. Zeas-Serrano, 31, Darlington, was cited for operating under the influence, disorderly conduct and driving without a valid license or vehicle insurance at 3:29 a.m. Sunday, March 24, following a complaint on Keep Street.

●  Raeann Sanders, 19, Benton, was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance at 5:54 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, following a traffic stop on Hill Street.

●  Aaron V. Berge, 45, Gratiot, was cited for driving without a valid license at about 2:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, following a traffic stop on Wis. 23.

●  Jefry D. Borjas-Gutierrez, 20, Platteville, was cited for driving without a valid license (second offense) on Wednesday, March 27, as the result of an investigation that began on Monday, March 18, on Wis. 81.

●  Heather L. Larson, 36, Darlington, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated at 2:26 a.m. Saturday, March 30, following a traffic stop on West River Street. She was also cited for driving without the required vehicle lamps lit.

●  Brielle E. Schmieder, 17, Platteville, was arrested on a charge of operating while intoxicated causing injury at 2:46 a.m. Sunday, March 31, following a traffic crash near Christensen Drive. She was also cited for underage drinking (first offense) and failure to keep a vehicle under control. A passenger, Sara K. Reuter, 31, South Wayne, was cited for furnishing alcohol to minors, drinking open intoxicants in a motor vehicle and having no vehicle insurance. Green County EMS of Darlington assisted at the scene. Both Schmieder and Reuter were transported to Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County with minor injuries.


Monroe Police

MONROE — A 911 call with screaming in the background was received by police from a residence in the 1400 block of 17th Avenue at 5:02 p.m. Thursday, March 28. As a result, Peter J. Knutson, 40, Monroe, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct under Wisconsin’s domestic violence laws. He was booked and released pending court, after posting the required cash bond.

●  Connar S. Koch, 23, Monroe, was arrested on a felony charge of marijuana possession at about 4:30 a.m. Friday, March 29, after officers assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Office by locating a vehicle associated with a 911 call from the parking lot of a business in the 1600 block of 9th Street. Koch was jailed.

On Saturday, March 30:

●  Jason S. Smith, 39, Juda, was cited for disorderly conduct after officers responded to a 12:55 a.m. report of a fight outside a business in the 1400 block of 17th Street.

●  Jason A. Rupnow, 44, Rock City, Illinois, was cited for disorderly conduct after officers responded at 5:40 p.m. to a business in the 1000 block of 17th Avenue for a report of a man being disorderly and flipping over tables on the sidewalk. In addition, Kenalee McPeek, 43, also of Rock City, was cited for obstructing an officer.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Deputies responded to the area of Wis. 11 and Wis. 81 for a report of a vehicle being driven all over the road, running over orange traffic dividers and almost colliding with other vehicles at 9:38 p.m. Friday, March 29. Deputies located and stopped the suspect vehicle in the N3100 block of County N, Town of Monroe. Investigation resulted in the arrest of Nimmer J. Plourde, 30, Monroe, on a second-offense charge of operating while under the influence of alcohol. He was also cited for failure to maintain control. He was released to a responsible party pending court.

●  Craig P. Pitzer, 37, Blanchardville, was arrested on domestic abuse-related charges of battery and disorderly conduct after deputies responded to a report of a physical altercation in the W9000 block of Buckeye Road, Town of York, at 4:10 a.m. Saturday, March 30. Pitzer was jailed pending bond or court.

●  Cody M. Saramtakos, 25, Freeport, was cited for disposing of solid waste on public or private property after deputies responded to a littering complaint in the W4600 block of Bauman Road, Town of Jefferson, at 2:32 p.m. Sunday, March 31.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Sunday, March 17:

●  Noah J. Hillman, 18, Warren, was cited for speeding at 9:33 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot.

●  Jordan C. Jesse, 19, Burlington, was cited for speeding at 11:01 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.

On Monday, March 18:

●  Deputies responded for a welfare check at 2:38 a.m. on North Splinter Street in Cuba City. Cuba City EMS assisted on scene.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 5:37 a.m. on West Water Street in Shullsburg.

●  Fraud was reported at 11:40 a.m. on County G, Town of Willow Springs.

●  An injured animal was reported at 4:49 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 7:20 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.

●  An animal bite was reported at 10:26 a.m. on Garden Street, Town of New Diggings.

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 12:25 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont.

●  A domestic dispute was reported at 12:42 p.m. on Palfrey Road, Town of New Diggings.

●  Tre R. Gilbertson, 30, Mineral Point, was arrested on a Grant County warrant after deputies responded at 11:51 a.m. to a domestic dispute on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs. He was transported to the Grant County line and transferred to the custody of a Grant County Sheriff’s deputy.

●  Leon Davis, 52, and Paul E. Douglas, 67, both of Rockford, Illinois, were both cited for speeding at 4:31 p.m. on County W, Town of White Oak Springs.

●  A deputy assisted the Shullsburg Police Department with a welfare check at 5:26 p.m. in Shullsburg.

●  A deputy assisted the Belmont Police Department with a complaint of threats to injure at 6:15 p.m. on North Park Street in Belmont.

●  A deputy came upon a disabled vehicle at 7:04 p.m. on County W, Town of White Oak Springs.

●  A deputy assisted the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office at 9:49 p.m. on Main Street in Gratiot.

●  Parker A. Burgess, 34, Newton, Massachusetts, was cited for speeding at 11:07 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.
