Pawlapalooza set for Sunday, Sept. 22

MONROE - The family picnic and dog show fundraiser, Pawlapalooza, is set for noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22 at the Green County Humane Society, N3156 Wisconsin 81.

Admission is $20 individually or $50 for a family; lunch and the dog registration fee is included.

A K-9 demonstration is scheduled at 1:45 p.m., followed by a dog show at 2 p.m. Best of Show Dog Contest is set for 3 p.m.; registration is required. Lunch runs from noon to 4 p.m. Other activities include kids' activities and a tour of the shelter.

Dogs need to be registered by 1 p.m. Registration forms are available at greencountyhumane.org. All dogs are needed to be kept on a 6-foot or shorter non-retractable leash. The event is for only adult dogs; puppies under six moths are not admitted. Female dogs in any state of heat will not be allowed to participate. All dogs must have proof of current vaccinations. Those who attend with their dogs should bring their dog's own water bowl.

Tickets for the Pawlapalooza Raffle, sponsored by the GCHS, are available at the humane society, Monroe Chamber of Commerce, Baumgartner's Cheese Store and Tavern, First National Bank, Wisconsin Bank and Trust and during the Concerts on the Square. Tickets are $5 each or $20 for five. The grand prize is $1,500 cash, first prize is $300 cash and second prize is $200 cash. The drawing will be held during the event.
