Haley Mueller of Albany will study at the University of Glasglow in Scotland this fall semester as part of an exchange program with the University of Minnesota.

ALBANY — Haley Mueller, Albany High School graduate 2020, is studying Kinesiology at the University of Minnesota and was accepted into the study abroad program for the fall of 2022 semester at the University of Glasgow, Scotland.

She leaves Sept. 9 and will start classes on Sept. 19.

Why Kinesiology?

I wanted to work with people and Kinesiology focuses on the study of human movement.

What will you do with Kinesiology?

I would like to go to graduate school for physical therapy. I currently work with adults with disabilities and may continue in that career or work with sports related injuries.

Why study abroad?

I’ve always wanted to study abroad and I love to travel.

When did you decide to apply?

The first part of the 2022 school year, I decided that the fall of 2022 would work best in my schedule to study abroad.

Was the process easy?

No! I had to fill out an application with the University of MN Learning Abroad program. After the application was accepted, I had to be nominated by the University of MN and go through an interview process. The University then decided that they would nominate me to study abroad. I then had to decide on a university, and I chose University of Glasgow, Scotland. I felt they had the best courses and options for Kinesiology. I then applied to Glasgow and didn’t find out I was accepted until May 2022.

What are you looking forward to?

I am excited to meet new people, the culture, Halloween in Scotland, hiking, touring castles, and taking the train to tour nearby countries.
