SAUK CITY - Five Monroe School District students are eligible for state level competition after participating in the Diocesan Knowledge Contest on Feb. 23 at the Sauk Prairie Middle School in Sauk City.
Monroe winners from the contest were:
Logan Leuzinger, second place in fifth-grade math
Nicholas Benkert, second place in sixth-grade math
Sydney Mathiason, second place in seventh-grade math
Silas Setterstrom, first place in eighth-grade math
Josette Ferguson, second place in seventh-grade spelling
All first- and second-place winners were eligible to go to the state level contest March 9 in Wisconsin Rapids. The students were each in a group of up to 10 students in their respective grade and subject competing for top honors in the state. They competed with first- and second-place winners from the other four dioceses in the state.
