Monroe City Band to perform in 2021

MONROE — The Monroe City Band is returning to the Twining Park Bandshell this summer. 

The band begins its summer concert series on Monday, June 7 with The Golden Age of Bands. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Twining Park Bandshell and is free to the public. Concert attendees will also have the exciting opportunity to utilize the newly remodeled bandshell seating while enjoying the beauty of Twining Park. This concert will also be livestreamed on the band’s Facebook page. 

The Monroe City Band was founded in 1949 by Allan F. Barnard as a way for adults to continue to perform music after high school. Currently in its 72nd year, the band will captivate the community with a wide variety of musical genres. The summer season will continue with performances at the Twining Park Bandshell on July 4 and July 29.
