MADISON - Wisconsin Power and Light Company (WPL), an Alliant Energy company, announces that it will sponsor utility safety and damage prevention seminars for contractors in conjunction with Diggers Hotline and the Wisconsin Damage Prevention Council. Builders, excavators, landscapers and others who work outside are encouraged to learn more about working safely near overhead and underground utility systems.
Representatives from Alliant Energy and Diggers Hotline will provide detailed information on:
how to identify potential job site hazards;
procedures that can help employees avoid injuries from contact with utility equipment;
local and state safety regulations and legal responsibilities; and
the proper way to safely and effectively respond to natural gas and electrical emergencies.
