YMCA's Healthy Kids Day slated for Saturday
MONROE - The YMCA will host a Healthy Kids Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28 at the YMCA, 1307 2nd St.
The event is an interactive learning day focused on healthy living. Vendors and activities will be set up throughout the YMCA to educate and give ideas on how families can live a healthier lifestyle.
Activities include football toss, scooter races, hula hoop competitions, an obstacle course, pony rides, games, a dance class, log-rolling in the pool from 11 a.m. to noon, healthy eating activities and healthy food samples.

Blood drive slated for May 3
SOUTH WAYNE - The South Wayne community blood drive will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 3 at the Black Hawk High School commons, 202 E. Center St.
Appointments are not necessary, but will help to get potential donors through the process faster. To make an appointment, call (800) 733-2763. Potential donors are asked to bring their blood donor card or a form of picture ID. Those who are 17 years old or younger need parental permission and a picture ID, along with proof of birthdate.
Anyone wanting to donate food or help with the drive should contact Connie Meier at (608) 214 1183.
