MONROE — The Monroe Wrestling Club had a busy weekend wrestling in three different tournaments.

On Jan. 4

Ten MWC wrestlers participated in the Oregon Youth Tournament. 

Individual results in the 8U bracket: Blaine Fletcher (54-56 lbs) second place; and Gabi Harms (56-58 lbs) fourth place.

10U bracket: Gage Ostby (55-60 lbs) third place; Gage Jelle (72-77 lbs) second place; Oliver Helland (72-76 lbs) fourth place; Patrick Harms (90-96 lbs) third place; and Wyatt Weckerly (94-99 lbs) fourth place.

12U bracket: Eli Salzwedel (73-78 lbs) fourth place; Payton Weckerly (90-96 lbs) third place; and Connor Swindle (152-164 lbs) first place. 

Also on Jan. 4, Maverick Meighan, Cole Meighan and Carson Menehan wrestled at the Badgerland Nationals in La Crosse. Maverick Meighan (4K-K 60 lbs) placed fifth; Cole Meighan (7-8 Gr 95 lbs) did not place; and Carson Menehan (7-8 Gr 105 lbs) placed sixth. 

Jan. 5

Seven MWC wrestlers traveled to Waunakee for the Wisconsin RTC Battle for the Badger youth tournament. Highlights of the day included meeting some of the Badger Wrestling team and matches were refereed by the Badger wrestlers. 

Individual results: Girls Division 2011-2015, Gabi Harms (55-61 lbs) fifth place. 

Boys Division 2011-2012, Ashton Laws (60 lbs) did not place; and Blaine Fletcher (60 lbs) did not place. 

Boys Division 2009-2010, Gage Ostby (56 lbs) did not place; Tristen Laws (85 lbs) sixth place; and Patrick Harms (90-95 lbs) second place. 

Boys Division 2005-2006, Tanner Ils (138 lbs) sixth place.
