MCFARLAND - The Cheesemakers won a close match on the road Thursday, 4-3 over McFarland.
Lily Priewe cruised to a 6-0, 6-3 win at the No. 2 singles slot against Megan Speich and Erica Hegi followed pace with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Katie Hietman.
Monroe's No. 1 doubles tandem of Brooke McBain and Ellie Grossen struggled in their first set against Erin Campbell and Maddie Blankenship, falling 3-6. But from there the Cheesemaker duo dominated, taking the second and third sets 6-0, 6-3.
Allie Coplien and Erin Gellings won at No. 3 doubles to seal the win, 6-4, 7-5 against Rachel Roisum and Tori Cooper.
Monroe's No. 2 doubles team of Ashley Segner and Chandra McGuire lost in three sets, 5-7, 7-6 (4), 7-5.
The Cheesemakers hit the court again on Saturday at home as they host their annual invite, which begins at 9 a.m.
Also falling Thursday was No. 4 singles player Alisa Fager (6-1, 6-2) and No. 1 singles Ellie Shuda, who was defeated by Abby Polipnick 6-2, 5-7, 6-3.
