OSHKOSH — Jameson Johnson and Tyler McKeon represented Pecatonica on the South All-Stars during the WBCA Classic June 28-39. The South was unable to record a win, falling to the North 3-2, the East 3-1, and the West 6-1.

In Game 1 against the North, Johnson made a key double play from center field. He caught a fly ball from Easton Hurd (Ashwaubenon) and threw out Easton Arendt (De Pere), who ran on contact.

Johnson reached via walk in the fifth inning but got hit in the leg on John Hadley’s (Sun Prairie East) hit to end the inning.

The South lost that game in extra innings.

In Game 2 against the East, McKeon’s speed led to the South’s only run. With a runner on third, McKeon drew a walk and delay stole to second. The hesitation threw the East defense for a loop, allowing the runner to score from third.

In Game 3 against the West, McKeon drew a two-out walk in the third. He advanced to second on a single from Nick Guiduci (Monona Grove) and both runners moved up on a wild pitch. They were stranded with a fly out to center.

After the South’s relief pitcher Cashton Jones (Madison Memorial) gave up six runs in 2 2/3 innings, Johnson took over on the bump. He got the final out of the inning with a fly out to right.

Johnson gave up one hit in the seventh, but the South was unable to rally in the bottom of the frame, resulting in the loss.

The East went undefeated, followed by the West with a 1-2 record. The East finished 1-2, and the South winless.
