Move it Forward, a charity organization began by Monroe high school students in 2020 to “inspire the next generation,” held its fourth annual summer event, which included sand volleyball, bags and a softball vs. baseball game. The Rippers team — Ethan Rosenstiel, Ashton Hale, Eli Phillips, Taylor Herbst and Noel Herbst — won the volleyball tournament, while baseball defeated softball 5-3 on a walk-off home run. Through donations, sponsorships, silent auction items and concessions, the event raised nearly $2,400 for its chosen organization: Monroe Booster Club.
