MONROE — Four area football players have been selected to play in the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association all-star game this summer at UW-Oshkosh.
Brodhead-Juda’s Jeffery Williams, Black Hawk’s Rece Shelton and Pecatonica-Argyle’s Colton Schraepfer will all participate for the South Small team as defensive backs. Black Hawk’s Colby Argall will participate as a running back on the same team.
The WFCA has partnered with Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin since 2006, raising over $3.9 million to benefit patients in need during that time.
Doug Sarver, president of WFCA, said on the event’s website that the all-star games (North vs. South, large school’s division and small) are “A life changing experience. The WFCA is committed in their partnership with CHW through the all-star games to not only provide one of the greatest experiences of the player’s and coach’s lives, but also giving them the opportunity to help change the lives of so many children through our fundraising efforts.”
Argall rushed for 2,047 yards as a senior, leading the Six Rivers Conference in rushing by nearly 900 yards. Black Hawk won the state championship in Division 7. Shelton and Argall were both first-team all-conference and honorable mention all-state at running back and defensive back.
Schraepfer was first-team all-conference at quarterback and second-team as a defensive back in the Six Rivers. Williams, who will play defensive back in the all-star game, was a first-team all-conference selection in the Rock Valley as a running back.
