Abbie AC
Abbie Dix has been named to Rock Valley’s First-Team All-Conference for basketball in each year of her high school career.

BRODHEAD — For the fourth straight year, Abbie Dix earned First-Team All-Conference accolades for the Brodhead Cardinals.

As a freshman, Dix averaged a double-double with a conference-best 12.3 rpg and 15.3 ppg. The next year, she averaged 17.6 ppg with 9.7 rpg, both stats placing her third in the conference. Dix was second in the conference for rebounding her junior year with 11.8 rpg. That year, she also scored her 1,000th career point.

In her final year, Dix was second in the conference with 11.7 rpg, which pushed her over the 1,000-career rebound mark. She was the first Cardinal to reach that milestone since former Cardinal and Iowa Hawkeye Carly Mohns. Dix also led the team in scoring with 16.0 ppg.

Fellow senior Alexis Kammerer received Second-Team All-Conference accolades, averaging 7.2 ppg. She finished with a .402 3-point percentage (37-for-92), appearing on the 3-point challenge rankings throughout the season. Alecia Dahl, just a freshman, made the Second-Team All-Conference list, averaging 10.8 ppg.

The remainder of Brodhead’s starting five — Addison Yates and Taetum Hoesly — received honorable mention recognition.

For the boys, sophomore Cullen Walker led the Cardinals with his Second-Team All-Conference selection. As a freshman, he received honorable mention accolades. Walker was third in the conference in scoring with 17.6 ppg. He shot 73% from the free-throw line (69-for-95) and 34% from beyond the arc (51-for-151).
