Darlington, Albany lose

FENNIMORE - The Darlington girls basketball team is on the outside looking in at the hunt for a SWAL Conference title after Fennimore beat them 66-55 Tuesday night.

Darlington (16-4, 10-2 SWAL) entered the game tied with Fennimore atop the conference. The Redbirds started strong, rushing out to a 38-29 half-time lead.

The Eagles outscored the Redbirds 37-17 in the second half. The Redbirds made just 12 off 22 free throws. The Eagles excelled from the charity stripe knocking down 22 of 30 free throws.

Darlington senior Carley McDonald scored a team-high 12 points. Cassidy Chambers scored 10 points, Amy Jorgenson added nine and Claire Scott chipped in eight.

Potosi 57, Albany 36

ALBANY - Potosi rolled in the Six Rivers Conference crossover game.

The Chieftains outscored the Comets 18-9 in the first quarter and led 29-22 at halftime. The Chieftains put the game away by outscoring the Comets 22-3 in the third quarter.

Albany's Carli Peters scored eight points to lead the Comets and sophomore Cassidy Bump added seven.
